Having never had one before I don't know. I spoke to my bro earlier on & he said it'll be fine as it is.

I've been looking in the for sale section on here (as I have to moderate it) and folk have them with screen protectors & stuff - is all that needed ? I doubt i'll drop it (touches wood) if I do though will it wreck it ?

I've got one coming, so was wondering if I have to spunk out on cases etc ? I don't want it too look crap within a few weeks.

nano/classic/touch?

i quite fancy a nano for my ski trips planned... my last nano 1gb one seemed to be fine in the durability stakes but the battery was doggers.

Dropped my 4gb and it was a write off :(

so ended up with a shuffle which has been good so far. Only used them in the gym though

Craig I have always bought some kind of rubber
to protect mine .....ooer missus.
its also worth going into hmv and getting some screen protectors, they cost pennies.

Ive got a sticky screen protector, but other than that my classic is naked...TBH I started off with cases etc, but they were just cumbersome, so i ditched them... Its got scratches and s**t now, but its still usuable and TBH you can buy new OEM cases on ebay if you really want to when selling etc..

i use a silicone case on my nano, it hardly changes the size and my nano is in perfect condition still.

80gb classic :)

Umm, looks like just a plastic screen cover thing for me then. It's only for the gym anyway, i've never been one to have music on all the time.

I got a couple but use my 60gb 5g video all the time. I am prone to dropping things so I bought a hard plastic case for it which has saved its bacon a couple of times so for me its a must, although it does increase the size.

My original one is five years old and still going strong, never bothered with anything case wise apart from those socks.

i'd deffo get a pouch of some sort, it stops them getting scratches to f**k and making the mirrored backing useless

i've got a 80gb video one, it froze and had it replaced under warranty. been fince since

I've had a 2gb nano and a 80gb classic. 80gb has been out on the slopes sking and travels in my work or cycling bag everyday. It's held up to shocks and temp differences really well. I only have the cloth sleeves that come with them and I have hardly any scratches on them. Just treat them with a bit of care.

If you want to run with it or use it in the gym, i'd recommend a smaller solid state drive than the larger hard disk versions.

i have an 80GB CLASSIC and it lives naked in my empty glovebox. took it boarding, running and use it everyday (in my back pocket aswell so gets sat on alot!) i love it. never seems to break! FYI THOUGH CRAIG. you can't buy the 80gb ones from shops any more AFAIK. only the 120gb ones

^
the 80gb classic was on apples site the other day. I've got a new one from ebay, didn't really want to use ebay but it was a fair bit cheaper (I bid on it & won) it's not here yet though (only won it saturday)

^ lol - none of them do when you buy them (I assume you messing about bud ?)

I have plenty of stuff to shove on it

i got a silicone case onmy 8gb nano and its perfect still after a year, cos its so light even being dropped or knocked it doesnt damage it atall. Just bought a silicone case for my iphone plus a screen protector and so far so good. Def get one
