Flame 172 + 147 GTA out in the lakes :D

Best GTA colour to.

Is the GTA much quicker than the 172 in a straight line ?

oh so so much quicker :rasp:

not really sure to be honest not had a fair drag yet plus the weather and greasy roads are not going to favour the gta... Though i have just had a uprated lsd fitted so me and piers will have a drag test sometime soon....

car looks 100 times better when clean too being the pearlescent white

Nice pics there :cool:

I've seen that gta for sale a few times (I recognise the reg plate on it) I love them, you don't seen hardly any on the road, my god they are fast !

ahaha!! ....yea we aint had a proper drag but i do know wen we are in 2nd his GTA just flys like its in a different class off car, but 3rd upwards he is obv still faster but he cant loose me that easy! ;) especially on the corners im up his arse! :rasp: ;)
 
Whats the spec of the Alfa? I know nothing about them, its a sexy looking motor (as is the 172 ofcourse)

i duno if jamie saw but i did see another red GTA going other way to us... did u see it jamie!?

yea gutted m8, was just a last thing idea... we will make sure we give planty of notice next time! some time soon hopefully!
 
Yea saw this on Renault Sport about 12 ish today - otherwise would have prob come up. Looks like a good drive though - loving the GTA too!

its a 3.2 v6 with standard 250 bhp and fwd mate, criticised alot for its heavy front end and crappy diff, so thats why i immediatley upgraded the diff now has so much more grip away from corners its like a different car.

Yeah i flashed it but got nothig back :( piers.. its the 2nd i have ever seen in my life on the road...:D seen more clio v6's on road! so it must be the most exclusive modern day hot hatch.

gutted that would have topped it all off to have a liquid yellow vee come along!!!
To be honest i dont know if i would have liked to take the vee over the passes.. purely becuase of its width... then again its looks are probably quite decieving is it any wider than the gta?:S

well only had the alfa 4 weeks and it is pretty sound, now its original chocolate diff had been upgraded and its cambelt (made from sugar paper) has been replaced. They are a reliable car if you do a little research. Its the silly thing that let them down like i have stated (cambelt and diff) Also things to look for on the gta's are the later ones have a 330mm brake upgrade from factory due to the original 305mm ones prone to warping in heavy use..
So mine hopefully wont let me down every weak point has been replaced or upgraded!

cambelt is a routine thing about a 500 quid service from a specialist should be done every 3yr 36k.. (alfa state 72k DO NOT LISTEN TO THEM)
Cambelts tend to snap between 40k (for the unfotunate ones) and 80k but they nearly all snap before the qouted 72k which is a disgrace to be honest.

Diff is actually only 530 fitted, more and more gta owners are getting them fitted now. Its basically a new alfa part been introduced to cope with the higher torques the new diesel engines are producing (thats what puts the strain on the diff). But you got to remember the 530 is not just getting you peice of mind for reliability, your getting a LSD that can actually comfortably put down 250 bhp through the front tyres!:cool:
So you can get a decent 04 gta for as little as 7k +1k for mods you have a reasonably reliable rapid italian hatch... (am i temptng fate)
