5mm Spacers

Car  PH1 172 Sport
I'm looking to put 5mm spacers on my PH1 it give it he same track as the cup as ive heard it helps the handling a little. Obviously hubcentric spacers arn't really needed.

Ive found some FK spacers for a reasonable price but ive got no idea on where to get the longer bolts from or what size I would need?

OR

Ive found this kit on ebay and they also do one with stud conversions.

What does everybody think?

The car will be used for occassional track days if that makes any difference.

Cheers

if you get 5mm spacers you will need bolts size m12 x 1.5, 60 degree taper, 30mm long thread, 19mm hex. you will struggle to find that size with a 19mm hex tho, you may need to get 17mm.

try google for pri racing.

Eibach is all you need. 40 notes ball park figure.

Dont think you wont get hubcentric in any brand of 5mm spacer.

Their just about the same price are they not?

Most folk go Eibach. Isnt there some issues with the FK ones? might be wrong

No Ive found them for about half the price. Am quite undecided at the moment! Did you get longer bolts to use with yours?

Not as yet lol - Its in the pipline and soon. I keep checking my nuts (no jokes) while running the stock bolts. Defo dont feel confident running stock

Ah right. If your speaking from experiance what did you get instead?

had that Kit. Mega Crap man, it F**d up 2 hubs, had to get 2 new Flanj's costed £200  all due to a s**t kit..

mind you, still have the spacers, just the bolts etc were cheaply made :nono:

you do realise with those 10mm spacers the wheel wont sit on the hub. you'll need hubcentric ones with the hub lippy thing on it

Apart from they are 5mm spacers. 10mm total per axle. Ive not gone for them anyway ive gone for the eibach pro ones 5mm on each hub.

All I want to know now is can I use 3 longer bolts on each wheel and keep the standard locking one?

Fitted these at the weekend and I can't believe the difference they have made to the handling. I was a bit sceptical that they would make much difference but they have to be one of the best things ive done to the car!

Does using spacers on the front not cause any problems? I ask as if the car is not deisgned with the wheels that far apart the steering will be affected by the extra tack width.

They put a bit more strain on the bearings - could of been what my noise was when I fitted my front spacers.
