  182
Had my 182 serviced about 2 months ago by renault. checked the oil today and it is just under half between the max and min! is it usual for an rs to use this much oil in such a short perid of time? theres no oil on the drive and it dont ever smoke!

Also gonna have to buy some oil tomorrow can anyone recomend some good oil? think renault used elf summit or other.

Cheers.

Why presume they filled it to the max mark to begin with?

Mine does use some oil, but virtually nothing. I think I've had to top it up a tiny bit between each service. Not so bad really. Try owning a Honda vtec yo. Then you really do need to keep an eye on oil levels, yo.

It was filled to the max i checked just after. yeh ive owned a civic and i know how much oil they use in vtec didnt know if the vvt on the clios did the same

I guess as long as it's not pissing oil on your drive, then it must be okay. They do use oil, as do all engines. The way it was run-in may also have an impact? If it was thrashed from new then the piston seals will likely be better.

I wouldn't worry TBH. The oil use may subside perhaps? If it continues to drink it then take it somewhere who knows about Renaultsports. In other words, not Renault.

LOL and when the specialists run out of ideas they book it in with Renault for a diagnostic or they ring up and ask to speak to a tech, yeah i ve taken a job on and under cut you hugely on price but im stuck any chance you can talk me through how to do it! 10 calls a day from back street garages at least.
