wheel bearing problem?

recently ive been geting a whining or swirling noise when i accelerate. ive been told that it could be the wheel bearing but i jacked the car up and found that there was no play in the wheels.

however i did notice that this problem came on when i put spigot rings on my alloys and also when taking the wheel off i noticed that the ends of the wheel bolts had white powder material on them. so does this sound like a wheel baring problem or weak bolts/ spigot ring problem? any help will be much appreciated.

Front or back? fronts can have no play by hand top to bottom when jacked up but can still need changing hope this helps.

cheers mate. i am almost certain that the sound is coming from the back left. will be getting it checked on monday by a garage but if anyone else has any ideas as to what it could be then please let me know
