172/ 182 with sunroof !!!

Hi, all just a quick question, My freind has a genuine 182 rs, and has a sunroof.

According to the dealer it was a 600 option. Has any one else got a sunroof on there rs...

doesn't seem right, I don't remember it being an option at all. I thought the roof on the RS models was strengthened and you couldn't have one.

my 1.6 has a sunroof and climate control.

every 2litre ive seen doesnt have a sunroof!

prob a conversion, there are plenty of companies out there (webasto etc) who will carry out a sunroof conversion on most cars

Probs been a Motorpoint car (imported) i think i have heard of 1 more like this a while ago.

My ph1 172 has one, no idea if from new or not but it looks the same as a boggo 1.2 Clio someone else at work has although mine folds all the way back. It creaks madly though probably due to the roof being made of cheese, going to take it out, clean up, put back in and silicone seal any bits where it joins the roof to see if I can quieten it!

I wouldnt mind it so much if it didnt creak like mad plus the AC doesnt work. Had a regas and no leaks so need to look into the wiring and compressor etc

I don't understand why anyone would want to get a sunroof fitted, especially when A/C was standard.

Both my 405 Mi16x4 and my Legacy Turbo had AC and sunroof as standard.

I'd rather have a sunroof than AC any day.

you can get them on 197s too, there is one they they have been trying to sell on ebay for over 6 months in nimbus!

As far as I was aware the a sunroof wasn't avaliable because it comprimises the chassis slighty and reduces the rigidity of it. Can't see the pics but would imagine its an aftermarket jobbie and i'm 99.999% sure they were never avaliable like that from the factory.

Thats an aftermarket one. Bristol Sunroof centre supply and fit them for about £600.

Maybe I could strike a deal with them. If they give me £300 they can have it back lol. Seems a ridiculous amount to spend when the car has AC and opening windows!

Just makes the car alot weaker. I know of a few mk1 Clio's which have creased when taken on track. Obv there are none on the mk2's to compare against.
