Indeed - installed both this morning and all is well so far.

Not noticed anything "new" yet but i've not really had a good play around with the setting etc. yet.

iPhone number 3 has now developed a problem.

The speaker is randomly working, I could be listening to a song and it just cuts out. Same when receiving a call/text etc.
Have tried switching phone off/on, restoring but still happening.

Any ideas or is it another 50 odd mile journey to nearest Apple shop??

I put mms on my iPhone

Numerous people have sent me pics this week but I haven't received a text with the pin in it

If your using the MMS app my understanding was that the password would be the same for them all for a set period of time.

Did you read my post? I've never had one single text telling me my pin to set mms up in the first place

iPhone number 3 has now developed a problem.

Off to Apple again today - have discovered the problem is that my iPhone thinks there are headphones plugged in but there isn't!

^ This is quite common and an easy fix I think. Can't remember what needs to be done but it's been discussed on here before.

Bascialy, push the headphone bit in and pull it out quickly had hard, may take a few attemps.

Use the voume button on the side to see if it says (ringer) or (headphones) and when it goes to ringer you know it's worked.

Don't install the new iTunes beta if you intend to use a modfied carrier file for mms and tethering, Apple have now blocked you from doing so.

Mine wouldn't activate without the new beta, I tried updating with the previous iTunes and the phone just came up with an error when rebooting in iTunes and just hung everytime I tried to start it, the pink "connect your phone to iTunes" screen appears to have been removed from this version.

Once I'd installed the new iTunes, my phone booted and went all the way through startup and then appeared in iTunes.

That's odd as some people have had no problem updating with the previous iTunes 8.2 beta. I'll give it a try when I get home tonight.

I had exactly the same issue last night, im now on a 2.2.1 firmware tip.
Took me 3-4 hours to restore.

Seems they have messed with the activation process.
Im going to attempt an upgrade when i get hold of beta 5

You're not the only person I've read to have had issues with 3.0b4 activation, hopefully b5 improves on this.

i dont own an iphone, i have a samsung g600.
what i mean is that by being on 02's simplicity, all you have to do when the phone is realeased, is give them a ring for your simplticity to be cancelled on the day of release of the iphone (you have to give a months notice). then when it is released you will just be sent the handset and being an "exisiting" 02 customer, all the stuff their end will be sorted. no contract changes, provider changes etc.
job done.
just wish they would leak some new iphone stuff to keep us entertained.

Not sure what you mean by "no contract changes."

You are going from simplicity to a 18 month iPhone contract. That in itself is a new contract, they won't just migrate you over.

The provider is obviously going to be the same as it's o2 you are dealing with.

i was on orange before, so moving from orange to iphone would take longer than simplicity to iphone.

If you change contract with o2 all they do is swap your existing number over to the new tariff and begin a new 18 month term. Far easier and quicker than if transferring from another network and no credit check etc required.

I doubt the changes will be anything other than a better camera supporting video, upgraded wifi chip and possibly a faster processor.

I can get one free on a 12 months contract for £41 a month.
