New Tyres on a 182

Aloha all

I'm currently the proud father of a slow puncture in one of my rear tyres - it's not too bad but the tyre does need replacing sometime soon, preferably this weekend. Thinking I'm going to replace both rear tyres at the same time.

I'm currently thinking about fitting Toyo's to the car - the TR-1's. Anyone got any experience of these and what they're like? The Z club recommends them hugely, thought I'd ask clio specialists. Bearing in mind I'm on a budget and looking for a slightly cheaper alternative to the Exalto's, but am also looking for maximum grip and a good rate of wear.

Answers on a postcard please...any help welcomed.

My advice= ask for some rim sealent when you change your tyres.

T1R's work well for the money, PE2's are very good but very expensive. Goodyears are s**t

Thats my opinion but you will get 100's of different opinions on here. Alot of it is personal preference

How do the Toyos wear? I have heard stories of them lasting only 10,000 kms? Interested because I need to replace mine soon and undecided between PE2's, F1's or Proxes.

I can't stand pe2's, but like the f1's. Not sure on the T1-R wear, haven't done too many miles on them so far.

Go with the Toyo's, ive had 3 sets on mine now, loads of grip and quite a reasonable price too.

Also tried the F1's but found they didnt grip that well in the wet.

I'm running Hankook RS2's some gimp told me these were budget rubbish, how wrong he was
No one tyre will suit all as driving styles vary so much, some are easy on tyres other abuse them.
Some muppets have no knowledge of tyre pressure effects & hence may have the best tyres over inflated & hate them:S

I drove a MGZR in the snow, it had YingYangs or some shite on there. The thing was undriveable, no grip at all. Couldnt use the throttle at all, had to drive it on tickover to save spinning the thing into the kerb

The problem started there tbh!

Lol, wasnt by choice, was a customers. she didnt beleive me that it was the tyres causing her to be scared out of her mind inthe snow. She said the steering had failed at first.

Nice, sounds like she learned not to put crap tyres on.

Think I've made a choice then - Camskill are doing 2 tyres delivered for £130 Will probly buy 4 instead as I'm running budgets on the front (Nexen 6000 I think).

I got 4 x 205/45/16 T1R's delivered from Blackcircles for £228,had them on the car for around 3 months and they are a cracking tyre for the money,handle really well in the dry aswell
