  Nissan 350z
Well normally dont do these kind of posts but pretty speechless about this. My friend stumbled accross this and figured he would share it with me seeing how its Clio related.

*fail*

Deffinately worth reading through.

Summary: Guys showing off his new car, guy is embarrassed by how much he paid, people work it out to be insane finance from carcraft, fail ensues.

Poor guy! :dead:

Poor sod, he does not even regret it. I would be self harming daily if I paid that.

I used to work at Carcraft, well actually Concept Cars as it once was, then it turned into Carland then Carcraft. I'd never buy a car there, the state of some of them was awful, the sales tactics are appalling and the aftercare is horrendous!

I have worked at a similar place, they use to say "the customer does not tell us what car they want, we sell them what we have got in stock". Actually worked too, number of people who bought completely different cars. I sold a lady looking for a manual diesel car an Auto Petrol !!! Could not deal with lying to peoples faces everyday though so got out of the motor trade.

i feel really sorry for the dude in lots of ways. especially the fact that that forum is full of complete w*****s!!!!!!!

Oh hold on, I've read further and he says he's paying 7k over four years - and admits it's twice what the car's worth.

Still a VERY bad decision, and Christ he's getting shot down in flames!

f**k me-what a millstone. Just read it and there's absolutely no telling the guy how much of a mistake he's made. Some people just can't/won't be helped. :dead:

That was out tactic. If someone rang and asked for a black for mondeo estate auto, we'd have to say hmmm, yes we have mondeos, yes black cars on this list, yep got autos in... shame none of them were a single car but a combo of about 3! Telling people they had passed finance checks as long as they brought utility bills and ID was another one, but its nothing i'm proud of. I hated that place.

I'm from Rochdale, so know all about Carcraft and how bad they are.

I must admit when I was 17/18 I did think about going to Carcraft for credit for a day, until my parents set me straight. Shame this guy's parents haven't.

Also, I don't think their forum is full of arseholes, I'd say it would be the same kinda response as here. A lot of people are just trying to drum it into him how bad this is!

Poor guy won't even listen :(

very shocking sales tactics i have to say! but no1 forces poeple to buy cars off these sorts of companies you can always walk away. id never buy a car off one of these car supermarkets.

I went to carcraft once, and sadly brought a car there.

Over 6 hours i was in there for the car. Its a long story which I won't go into the ins and outs of but basically....

Went in, told them what i was after, they had one in stock, took my current car keys to do trade in price, picked car, set up finance request paperwork, 2 hours later no finance, trouble setting up apparently. Told them i'd take my old car back home, told not possible as work had already started on getting it fixed up for sale.

Said i didn't care and i wanted my old car back and was told i couldn't have it back. Finally got finance sorted about 4 hours after entering. Finance spread over 2 loans, refused this. got £2k knocked off by cancelling 2nd loan. Refused car again over other issues. Got a futrther £1k knocked off. Then was allowed to drive my old car home to get V5 etc and take all aftermarket mods off. Removed Front & rear bumper, door cards, speakers, pedals, stereo. The guy basically drove a shell back there. Finally home at 9pm (3 hours late for work)

Washed car next day, found tree sap paint damage on bonnet and roof. Todl carcraft said would pay, took to bodyshop, roof painted bonnet not, told CC had refused bonnet work. Argued the toss, didn't get sorted.

Still got car now and its a f**king wreck to this day!

Avoid Carcraft.

Ive ended up going into some ins and outs after all but to type everything with correct grammer would've taken ages.

Sorry

I would never buy a car from any dealer, private all the way. Do a HPI check and pay more attention to the paperwork than the car (You cant fall in love with paperwork, in fact I look at the paperwork before I drive it), if anything sounds strange walk away.

Unfortunately a very good friend of mine fell for a sales pitch too, came into work one day and said he had bought a car and that the garage owner was a good friend of his dads so he got a good deal, the car was a renault grand scenic, i asked how much he paid and he said £8500.....most of which was on finance......i said nothing but that night i went home and checked on similar mileage scenic's selling on auto trader......mint condition should have only been 5k!!!!, poor guy, even to this day i haven't told him.....some friend of the family this trader must have been!!!!!!!

Even the main dealers are just as bad, I remember we put balloons out EVERYDAY and when people came in we said it was a one day only promotion. They say never trust a salesman for a reason lol

"7k over 4 years, its not as bad as everyones making out, im paying almost double what its worth, OVER 48 MONTHS!"

Clearly hasn't got his head screwed on.....

"GAP ins included and fully comp is 2400

Punto at third party was 2100 which is one of the reasons why i just got a new car.. "

:eek::eek:

I'm the same age and i'm insured on a 57' 1.4 Dynamique S for £600 FC with LC, PI, CC, WC

Poor guy, probably got insurance quotes from CarCrafts sister company or something.

Similiar story to a guy at work, he's paying £16,000 for a 56 plate.. 1.2 Micra!

Feel sorry for the guy like people have said, but he should atleast have his wits about him.

I do have to say though that in contrast to what i said about my friend, when i got my 182 the dealers couldn't have been nicer or more helpfull, even though my 182 was the cheapest car in the showroom along side aston martins, porsche's and mercs the guys still took 15 minutes to get the car out from the middle of the showroom so i could test drive it there and then.....never pushed the sale once and when i went to pick it up it had been Mot'd, serviced, taxed, valeted, v5 sent off in my name and he even sourced me out some genuine RenaultSport mats too......so it goes to show that some traders will go out of their way to help you :)
