Engine milage?

What sort of milage can you get out of a 172 engine before it needs rebuilding assuming it's well serviced and belts done etc?

My 52 plate 172 is now on 112k and is running better then ever!

I don't think i've ever heard of one giving up TBH.

Usually suffer damage from broken cambelts/dephasers.

Sorry to hi-jack the thread, but what is a dephaser?

The dephaser pulley is the thing that alters the cam profile i believe?

Sounds like a diesel when it's failing.

it'd be nice if the engine lasts longer than the rest of the stuff that's fitted. guess it's still relatively early-days, but sounds promising with some of the mileages, and haven't read much about HGs/oil burning/death rattles/etc - seem to be a few cambelt failures though

ed. not sure, but hasn't the F4R been used in others for a while longer?

No lol my mistake thats on my 1.2
