fitting an Alpine 113BT with all the adaptors needed or so i was told.

also looking at running the iphone lead from the back of the headunit into the tray above the clock in the center of the dash? easy to do? or do i need to take the dash off which i really dont wanna do.

any advice or things i should know before starting?

dash off I'd have thought, or would be mighty tricky. I ran my lead down to the cup holder, and drilled a hole thru the ash tray. Bingo. Reversible too, by just getting a new ash tray from a scrappy or whatever

yeah i thought as much. am hopeing by lifting the rubber mats in the tray above the clock they might b a hole to run lead through, simples i hope!

I have mine run into the glovebox via the hole at the top of the glovebox inside already there.
Bit dodgy on top really, as the cable would be visible through the window, plus you turn sharp and that ipod is going to go flying off that dash, I only know because I lost two pair of sun glasses off that tray out of the passengers window :|

Removing the dash is super easy! Takes 5 mins when you know how

cheers for the comments

didnt need the dash off, lifted the rubber trays out n found a hole, had to make it bigger tho, then fed the wire through, took the little tray out in front of the clock and fed it down between the air vents then into the headunit.

problem tho, got a adaptor to work the stalk lead but cant seem to get it to work?

and to get the clock to still work, and soon realised that i would need to take the dash off to get to the back of the clock, i soon went off the idea of having the clock working but i was only bothered about the time n temp showing and they still work so all is good.

its a alpine 113bt and i dunno if it me, but saving the radio stations as u do by holding down the button untill the beep, works but then as soon as u take the face off n turn back on the stations arent saved??? changed the colours to match the dash and they still stay the same colour. any1 got ideas of what the problem is?

as for the iphone in the tray it stays in the same place as its a alpine high speed lead and u need to push in the buttons on the side to release the iphone from the lead

I think he meant that the iphone will fly out of the tray easily, not that it wont stay connected to the lead. If it eill fly out, you don't want to be relying on the connected lead to hold it, as that will strain the connection.

Take about and hour mate. No screws at all.

Take the ashtray out.
Take the Cup Holder out.
Unclip the panel behind the Climate Control.

Feed the iPod link cable behind that.

Done.

See?
