''OMP Spare Wheel Strap

An alternative method to retain your spare wheel in your race or rally car is to use one of these spare wheel retaining straps. Compes complete with mounting plates and eye bolts as required.''

Guessing you'd have to weld the plates to the floor? Was looking to put a false floor in though so that could be a bit of a pain, unless I cut slits through the floor? :-\

I'd personally probably have it welded to the beam across the top of the rear bumper or similiar and have it as far back as possible.

They look like spreader plates to me.

Basically just a big plate with a threaded hole through it. I think all you have to do is drill a hole in the floor, through the car. Place the spreader plate underneath (get a mate to hold it) and then screw the eyelet into it from inside the car.

Harness snaps onto the eyelet then you tighten it up.
