VW's dont rust...dont they?

So many people say VW's dont really suffer with rust..well unless theyre very old.

Check my bora's front arch -

Mr VW decided he would put sponge behind the front arch which gets saturated and holds water against the wing for theyre life. Good isnt it? The lip of the arch was McFucked! Luckily i have a friend with a bodyshop..

New genuine wing fitted so the car is now spotless.

No accident damage, no repair work just rust all along where this wet sponge rested against it..Shocking. After that top pic i hit it and it staterted to fall apart. Needless to say it came out on the other side..

Theyre genuine wings too.

I know there is packing there,(as you now know a bloody silly idea) i think you were just a bit unlucky there matey, i honestly cant remember the last time i saw some genuine rust like that, def rare

I was worried about that tbh! Luckily the rest of the paint is A1. Its had a full machine polish and in the petrol station last night you couldnt see any difference.

I originally thought that. If you saw the other side you'd realise its not. I'll get a pic of the back side of the wing. Its shocking..

JCS - Its ramapped, N249 bypass, Decat front pipe and main cat, 007p, filter. Soon to have a new turbo intake pipe and "J" N75 valve.

I would imagine it is more like 205-210 matey, get a front mount on it, then a custom map and with the other mods above you should hit 235 and about 250 ish lb ft torque

Quite possible. She is now on a custom map. The figure is a guestimate but its going on it being not too far behind my friends proven 250bhp golf..and quicker than a mates fmic, filter, remapped etc Ibiza Cupra 1.8t..

I found when my bumper was off i had some stupid blanking plate on the back of the grill for the intercooler. Needless to say thats gone! Seems to go better and its getting better mpg!

Driving sensibly she can get in the 40's

Sweet mate, the 1.8 T maps vary so so much, one map may give 200, a map on 2 other identical cars may give 185/205, its amazing to see how they vary, the torque figures are just the same too, seems like you have a good one

Get a K04, bigger injectors and 270 bhp

Yep i will do one day.. Tempted by a K03s Hybrid to be fair. Although my map was customer he didnt do it on rollers though. He did it on the road. They seem to know theyre stuff though. It was Badger 5..

They difinately know what they are doing mate! Though for the best map you need rollers, you simply cant get the same accuracy mapping on the road.

Hybrid would be nice, a front mount will make a nice difference, as will a bigger downpipe

They're Ibiza is impessive that's for sure! Haha! When we asked the power they just said start at 600bhp and keep going haha! They were rather modest about it all though. Really nice guys!

It's got a 2.75 front pipe and decat already bud. I'm tempted by a for a forge updated wmic as I'm not sure on the look of fmics on boras. Function over looks though so maybe paint it black so it doesn't stand out
