iPhone 4.0 Event April 8th

Basically:

So let's review. Multitasking, folders, enhanced mail, iBooks, enterprise, Game Kit, and iAd. And these are just seven of the 100 new user features..

We are releasing it for end users for iPhone and iPod touch for users this summer. For the 3GS and iPod touch 3rd gen. And, for iPhone 3G and iPod touch 2nd gen, they will run many things... but there are some things they won't run, like multitasking

So what are peoples views on this.. Excited or not? Whats your favorite new feature of the ones shown?.. I know for me the multitasking, as with everyone else who has been waiting a long time for this.. The others seem interesting, but the iAds isn't one for me, but as I said previous, I guess it times some of the Devs who make some pretty decent free and cheap apps to make a little money..

100 New features.. I guess we have to wait until Summer to find out about the other 93.. Opinions people?

3rd Gen will be getting MT.. 3rd Gen has more running power I would assume.. I'm not too clued up on the specs of the iPod Tocuhes??

Unless the other 93 new features are an improvement on the 7 listed tonight, I won't be updating.

Multitasking is the best thing there, but I have that on JB anyway.

I like the folders thing that will save a lot of messing, also it says create playlist which is something i have wanted to do from the iphone for a while and obviously the multitasking is cool too.

I never used the Multitasking on my JB iPhone, but the way it implimented onto the new OS is pretty impressive IMHO.. I will most probably wait for the OS4 to be JB before I upgrade also, but for now, it looks promising.

I am also a fan of this.. I use Categories on my JB iPhone and i love it, but the way it looks on the new OS seems a lot more impressive then Categories

not if you have bought an 8gb one its only on the 32gb and 64gb that get more ram faster cpu an gpu :dapprove:

the 8gb is no different to the 2nd gen touch

BiteSMS is what I use for that exact feature.. Finally Apple decided to use that also.. Its been on the Android plateform for some time now.. Another good feature to come..

Bit shocking.. It was never distinguishes which versions of the iPod Touch gets it, just said 3rd Gen and 3GS..

Totally agree.. Hence the wait for OS4 JB Version for me, for sure.

Playlists can be created on iTunes and put onto the iPhone, but there has never been a why to create a Playlist on the actual device itself.. This will be handy

Such as what?

The only benefit JB'ing has over 4.0 is that you pikeys can get free apps.

Not for many people I would assume, but sure, there are some. JB just opens up a load of extra features Apple should have implemented a long time ago, My soul gains of JB was Themes and In App SMS.. Free Apps is a no go

Oh your correct I was just talking about on the go

There are 4 reasons why I JB:

1. Personal Background
2. Bitesms
3. Backgrounder
4. Free apps :p

I didn't see any mention of personal backgrounds which is one of the main reasons I've JB, plain black is boring.

So I can put up with using bite and backgrounder so I can have background and free apps until 4.0 is JB.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not against the JB scene. I did my 2G from Day1.

Themes is good but it's so much easier having it all legit and being able to just update when you like. I haven't touched my 3GS and I really don't see me doing anything to the 4th Gen on 4.0.

Agreed, but OS4 will have Home Screen Backgrounds as a new feature

Also agree with you on that, I hate not being able to update, but as of yet the updates for iPhone haven't really brought anything interesting, the OS4 will totally change my opinion on JB'in in the future, but there will always be something that is missed out and other people want/need, the only way will be to JB and hope it gets developed before Apple get round to adding 'said' feature..

So if developers have it, does that mean they could leak it to folk for it to be added like a jailbreak? Or am I talking hippy s**t?
