agggghhhh the dodgy idle mayhem is back!!!

so angry i thought i had this problem solved !!

my 172s idal was all over the place and i tried loads of methods to fix the problem and after fitting a new ICV the problem finally went, and ever since the car has idaled perfect every time.

BUT

today i came to some lights, stopped and the revs started to pick up again. i thought agggghhh here we go again!!!! so i drove the car home and i was right the dodgy idal is back!!!

so i popped the bonnet with the engine still running and the revs all over the place around the 3/4k range, and when i squeezed/blocked the breather pipe (the one that is attached to the ICV and the induction pipe) it idaled perfect again ? ? ? ?

why is this? im now thinking can i just block it off and thats it? ? ? ? or does it need to breath and have air getting in there ?

Check for air leaks of every single hose that leaves the manifold.

Btw its "idle".

iv checked all visible pipes for leaks but cant seem to find any thing obvious?

im just woundering if it could be the ICV again as it was just a cheapy off ebay?
