The ClioSport stare...

Not sure if anyone else has noticed but every time I see a Clio sport owner we end up staring at the cars asif to say I know you've got a CS, You know i've got a CS but I don't know you from Adam so always in 2 minds if I should flash or not and end up just staring until you get closer then pretending you havnt looked

Happend to me a few times, even if you see a slightly modified non sport you get the stare...

Anyone else do this or just me? Probably just me

Have given the thumbs up to a monoco owner giving it death around local roundabouts he just seemed to give me a nervous wave like who the f**k is that
have been flashed by a v6 owner though and i waved back
I wave at most people though not overly fussed haha

Yep happens to me, but it depends what it looks like as to whether I nod or flash the lights,
had too many plebs with silly exhausts and sh1t wheels look at me like a c*nt.

I did this too a while back in my works car, felt pretty stupid...made me chuckle though as they were bombing it through an area well known for speed traps, probably s**t themselves thinking they were about to be caught! Shouldn't speed though at the end of the day, especially what looking liked 50ish in a 30!

Some guy waved to me in a 106 once. I only saw him very briefly and sort of waved as a reflex as I thought it must be a mate.

It wasn't actually anyone I knew, this guy then seemed to be everywhere I f**king went, always waving at me.

I had a similar thing with a saxo vtr. Pulled up at the shops and he had his window down with "choonz" blasting. Said in a strong Middlesbrough accent. "that a 2 litre that mate?" said yeah and he started telling me some s**t. Seen him the following day and he flashed his lights and waved then about a week later seen him in the street and he shouted "now mate where's the Clio?"

Suppose he was just being friendly but the fact he was sat outside the shops blasting music I instantly labelled him a chav.

I give people the stupid/special look if i see another CS. It's usually just pulling a daft face but it does get a reaction, usually just a middle finger or two.

I guess that other thread will give us a better idea. From a quick look at the heritage, I'd say about 15,000 were made.

Take off a the ones that are now dead. I'd imagine we have probably a few %

I think some people buy a RS clio without knowing the community and much about the car really.

Bus drivers do the wave thing to each other. Im gonna start flashing all the RS clio owners i see and I have a cs sticker in my rear quarter now.

On a similar topic who makes the effort to park next to non-sports?

I know it's a total different scene but my dads had a few classics in his time and when he's out in his MGA almost every old boy on the road gives him a toot or a flash etc. It's a nice thing in theory but there's too many clios on the road to make it worth while bothering I think! Most people would just think we're sado's because we have a "chaved up Clio with stupid exhausts"
