A Couple of Pics of the old girl...

Not cleaned in a few weeks, and now on 127,200 miles (mileage has slowed of late)

Not had a chance to drive her properly now for ages. Thinking about taking it off the road soon, maybe even sell it!.. tempted to get a RS 200 or MK2 RS :S

:)

Still looks like brand new minus the ghetto fixed splitter lol, still imo the best phase 2 172 on the site :)

one of my favorites to, and ffs dont sell it. With that mileage you no its not worth much. more sentimental value

Thanks for the comments guys

TBH Ali I have thought about selling up lately but you're probably right, it does hold a lot of sentimental value and it's worth next to nothing.

I agree; I don't think you should sell it, I thought you were planning on tracking it? :)

Yeah I was planning on tracking it, I've got quite a few bits and bobs in the garage including this..

Luke 4 Point harnesses etc.

Maybe it's time I went out for a long B road blast to fall in love with it again

Lovely mate. I love the ghetto splitter lol.

Cheers Will

Dont sell it, you'll get bugger all for it.

Everyone out there seems to buy purely on mileage. My mrs put her cup up for sale and apparently a 5 year old car with 60k on it is high mileage apparently, needless to say she'd rather keep her car than let it go for peanuts.

I've always liked your 172, it seems perfect with the cup spoiler, turinis, H&Rs, 4 pots and recaros, and funnily enough the high mileage on it has always given me 'hope' so to speak! lol!

Just make sure you clean the sills when you get round to giving it a wash, seems like you never bother having seen your previous threads!

Pump some love into it Fletch! I've recently fallen in love with mine again! Just want to get it all sorted now!

Get the front end resprayed ;)

Looks in good nick considering the miles it's done, was getting worried about piling on the miles on mine but this has given me hope

Looks awesome, I would never have guessed it'd done over 120k!

I don't think I will worry about mileage as much anymore, if mine is anything like yours after 100k I'll be happy :)

Lovely car. tastefully done. The realism of it tho, is that its worth more to you than it is to the market. You'd be better off selling the parts, returning to stock and punting the car for trade, 2k i'd imagine! Sad sad times!

May aswell, keep, track and buy another. :)

I promise to give the sills a good clean next time I was it :rasp: :)

Impressive stuff Russ.

Yes mate, it could do with a bit of TLC

Yeah only the parts are really worth any money Ali. I still have all the standard parts in the garage gathering dust!

Saying that my GF and dad never think I'd never get rid anyway.

Thanks everyone for the positive comments.

What seats are lurking inside this sexy beast? Are these high milers still tight runners or are they like a wizards sleeve?

looks nicem how many miles have you done init, how long have you had it? Hope mine looks that good after 100k+

Recaro Trendlines.

And yes it's as tight now as when I got it on 45,000 miles.

I've had it nearly 5 years now, and done 82,000 miles in that time. If looked after they do last, I give it hell once the oil has warmed

Another needy thread from Fletcher :rasp:

Keep it mate, still a fantastic example of a 172 :)

If I can make it that sounds good Tim.

If you deciede to sell the steering wheel, I'll buy it off you.

Chris (White striped bandit) has got first dibs on it. TBH I can't ever se me selling the Sabelt wheel anyway.

Looks awesome as ever!!

You lot have some way to go on the mileage front though, 172 is where its at ...

Thanks Dave. Did you buy the high mileage trophy then?

This one...
