Query/Help

Right so to get insured on a 55plate 182 it will cost me £3600

to get insured on a 60plate 200 it will be £3000.

Both FC, 19, 1 years ncb, A Rated Postcode, No claims, No Convictions, Both parents on the policy as named drivers.

Can anyone reccomend a good broker for young drivers on sport models?

Also why is that lower? Theres a ten grand difference in what it's being insured for aswell.

For the prices i would guess claims history would play a part.

At the end of the day you're 19 - i very much doubt you'll get it much lower that 2.5k in this day and age.

The 200 will have less crash statistics therefore won't be seen as such a high risk!

I really wouldn't bother. Ive gone over this time and time and time again. You might as well just wait, build up your ncb and learn to drive properly before jumping into something with 160bhp and upwards.

Save your £3k+ a year on insurance and insure something for less. for the sake of £600 + the cost of a new 200, you'll be paying it for years, not to mention the fact of £2k a year for a few years after.

I can drive properly and this is my 3rd car at the moment, I learned in a 2.0L 140hp VW Passat, so power experience is not an issue.

Just really bored of the 1.4

bored of the 1.4 ha ha. I saw another member 'cerrone' think it was, got insured for 1900 or so at 19 which I thought was quite good. At the end of the day it's your decision what you want to spend your money on. Selling your car would cover insurance but thats a bit silly. Reckon you could get it down a bit though. come down Norwich later and admire my 182;)

you may have learned in one, but dont have day-to-day real life experience of a that sort of power delivery. Insurance will see you as a young driver who is going to crash, this is a FACT.

Just because you've driven a 140hp car doesnt make you experience. Ive driven a ferrari 360, gt3, gallardo yet I dont have insurers saying "oh sorry sir didnt realise you could handle those cars" and giving me a 2k reduction on my insurance. (not that my insurance cost's 2k)

I did drive it for the first month of passing my test but it was under a company policy so I wasn't even a named driver. I do understand your point though.

i am 19 with 1 years ncb admiral quoted me £2315 for this car 05 plate 182 so must be just down to your postcode

im with admiral :s

my postcode is IP7 which is the safest one, it's a tiny little village where we see a police car with blue lights once a year and everyone comes outside to witness whats going on

just messed about with my quote and being a student living at university is cheaper than being employed as a sales colleague.

I've looked at them too, Im getting £2900 for a 172 and £2600 for a 182.

Somethings wrong here, I'm calling them later, especially as I'm getting ripped off on my insurance at the moment any way.

It's wierd cos when I was looking at them at the end of November I was getting £1700 quotes
