Redex Petrol Cleaner

Car  1.1 Clio
Hi i got my first car 3 weeks ago and i saw redex petrol cleaner in halfords. Does this actually work and is it any good? These are the things it aparently does.

  • Helps increase fuel economy
  • Cleans injectors
  • Helps restore performance
  • Reduces emissions
Do you recomended in buying this stuff or not?

Its only £4 so i think why not but i dont really know.

I have a 2002 1.1 petrol clio.

No, it's crap. Will make no noticeable difference at all.
You might see a tiny increase in fuel economy, but not nearly enough to see your £4 back.

I've always chucked it in my cars every now and again, might do f**k all but i get it from work dirt cheap anyway

makes bugger all difference mate, if you want clean injectors etc get them ultrasonically cleaned. the only way

My uncle looked at my car and said that the injectors were very very dirty and needed cleaning. What is the best thing to do/use to clean the injectors?

Can you tell how mucked up injectors are by just looking at them? :S

You can't clean them yourself, if you rub the injector ends with any type of material it won't do much good. You need to take them a a fuel injection specialist and have them ultasonically cleaned, they can also tell you if the fuel spray pattern is correct or blocked.

Redex........ think about this...

...what liquid is used to clean components and metal items in some old-school engineering places? Petrol.

Petrol itself is a great cleaner... so if an injector is messing about - as stated, ultrasonic cleaning is the only way.
