Cam belt change frequency

Had the car 18 months and it's knocking on 113k now - thought i'd check when the cambelt was last done

Last receipt I can find was when sir_dave owned the car - July 2008, 62k miles
Cambelt Kit - £99
Aux belt - £12.30
Cam plugs - £10.50
2 hrs labour

I think the guy I bought it from said he'd had it done as well but I can't find any receipt so I'm getting a bit twitchy

What's the service interval for the cam belt? 70k?

Every 50-70k miles or every 5 years, which ever comes sooner.
The belt will age over time regardless of miles, I tend to air on the side of caution.

Not a cheap job though is it?
Mine just cost me £600, that was cambelt kit, aux belt kit and water pump. All done by my local Renault specialist, as recommended by the guys on here!
But, now I know its all done, so piece of mind ftw!

Hrmmm it does a lot of track and nurburgring stuff - so I'd say its probably ready for one

Think it's cheaper on the cup because no air con ;)

I keep reading about the dephaser pulley - is that something that needs doing at the same time?

My car seems to drive fine but recently has lost a lot of MPG - getting around 31 on a motorway 65-70mph run - and I used to get 40ish
Thinking it could do with a cambelt, dephaser pulley and new lambda sensor

dephaser condition is almost entirely down to oil change frequency. If you've done it on time always then it may well live on for a long time to come. However, that's an ideal mileage to just do the lot. I'd even be tempted to do the waterpump on something with over 100k and I never reccomend that

It's had full oil changes every 10k at max always with high quality oil from
Opie oils. There's no noises or anything just like you say past the 100k mark I think it might be worth a major service just for piece of mind really before I head off to Germany again in it lol
