Clio 1.2 16v radiator fan not working

Engine is overheating when car is at standstill as the fan is not coming on to bring in the air left car for 10mins engine heats up 2 red and fan does nto come on. however fan has been tested and works fine when voltage is put through it but does not turn on automatically when the engine gets tooo hot. any ideas on what the cause of this could be?

Could be a faulty thermostat or the fan switch....easy to fix.

where is the fan switch on a 1.2 16v?

doubt it would be the switch if it has already been tested for continuity... any idea how they tested it mate?

If i'm correct, its been a while since i've seen a D4F Clio II, the fan is ECM controlled and a signal is taken from the coolant temp sensor in the cylinder head. It'll be one of the following causing the fault:

• Controlled earth to the fan control relay at fault
• +12v wire to the fan control relay at fault
• Broken feed wire to fan control relay
• Faulty fan control relay

If not this then fix with fire.
