KTECs 197

if i had the money id buy this in a blink of an eye don't really think its expensive considering how much it would cost to do all the work on it
 
That looks mental. Wonder what it will actually go for.
Would love a go in that too.
Some one out there is going to buy that and have some serious fun in it.
 
It's a lovely car. Looks expensive but when you consider the amount of kit it's got it's not too bad.

In the PFC article they said youd 'get change from £10k' for the conversion... so say £6.5k for a decent 197 and about £9k for the work to do.

the one for sale works out cheaper and its ready to go... i couldnt be arsed to wait a few weeks (or however long it takes) for the engine swap and all the other work

Not to mention the cage alone is around £1300 fitted (iirc).
 
It's more than a tad expensive.

10k for the conversion :dead: My mate kris has had the Megane conversion done on his 197 & it's cost no where near that. His even has the R26 LSD box & drive shafts, also runs the Megane ecu. Paul @ RSTuning mapped it last week on the standard turbo & it made 270bhp & 300lbs ft.

Answer me this if it was a member off this site asking for 15k would it be a bargain or would everybody be saying he's dreaming you never get money back spent on modifications?

So you're saying that it should be sold at the same price as a similar mileage standard 197?

Yep, if it was a 'home built' one then itd be overpriced. but you know with this one the work would be second to none, its got a shed load of expensive* extras from ktr and its incredibly low miles.

not having a go, just my opinion... now im going to read your mates build thread :D

I can see what you mean that it's been built by a company, but my mates is home built & no corners have been cut & my ph1 is home built also to a very high standard. But I know I'd never get my money back for the expensive extras I've fitted. :)

Have a read of his thread, he needs to get the graphs put on & I need to upload the videos of it :evil:
 
Craig's not wrong, they're pricing it as such because it is a demo car and as such has their name all over it. Although they're entitled too.

But someone will buy it for that, guaranteed. Don't forget Pauls demo Ph1 went for around 7 or 8k. Although in fairness that was proper kitted out. This car is missing a few things

im not doubting the quality of yours and your mates conversions, i just think the difference between a company and a home conversion would make a big difference in the amount potential buyers will spend.

owen may aswell call himself a turbo specialist lol, him and andy seem to build them for fun ha.

Ohh yeah I kno if my car was Forsale next to an exact same spec'd car a tuning company were selling they would get more interest.

But the megane conversion alone can be done a lot cheaper to save you a load of cash, just incase your thinking about it ;-)

Owen is a top lad who knows a hell of a lot he's done a great job with kris's. They love building engines up there neck of the woods lol.

so how many boosted clios are in the NE now? and how many have been up there lol

Theres a lad with a 400bhp 172 cup & Pete from Hartlepool is turbo'ing his 172 cup, there's a few lol
