de cat clio 182

  clio 182 sport
so im buying a new exhaust for the clio and want advice, is it worth goin de cat and also has the engine managment light came on?? did it affect the mpg??

also my washer jets seem to be blocked on the car have been for a month or so, i have pinned them and they squirt a lil then block up again, any advice?? is it the filter??

Frankly the only difference is the noise and the extra hassle of either spacing out the second lambda sensor or hiding it above the heat shield to ensure the light doesn't.

Plus, you get the job of removing it every year for the mot.

However, if you did go ahead with it - I would advise getting a genuine manifold to cat fitting kit.

hmmm already orderd it now, mot wont be a problem as my friend owns a garage up the road and will do this, how can you stop the engine managment light coming on??

I have the second lambda plugged into the loom but not into the de-cat, just cable tied above the heat shield so it reads 'clean' air.

Obviously you need either a lambda bung or a knackered old one to plug the whole in the de-cat.

My light still comes on infrequently but goes out again after a few days.

What exhaust did you go for?

It doesn't affect the car in anyway when the light is on. Just ignore it or buy a EML eliminator adapter, think k-tec sell them but they aren't cheap!

thanks, good bit of advice, sportex exhaust and a scorpion de cat bit of pipe.

do you know if i need any crusher washers or gaskets or exhaust paste to change the exhaust over.

and my car will still run fine if i plug the lamber in and the de cat part and the eml comes on?? :)

I would buy a genuine manifold to cat fitting kit (which includes a gasket) and perhaps a new cat to centre section clamp, but really you need to get under the car and check the condition of them. Sportex should send you any fitting clamps for their exhaust (I would have thought!) I didn't use any paste at all.

The car will run fine, with or without the light on.
