battery life -

They've not only matched but exceeded battery life of 4S. 8 hours of 3G talk time and browsing, and LTE browsing, 10 hours of Wi-Fi browsing, 10 hours of video, 40 hours of music, 225 hours of standby time.

Didn't really mention % increases, so I bet it won't be a great deal better.

I was always fairly happy with the 4S camera anyway! Better = Better though!

Same as the 4S but thinner.

So it's not just football you have no clue about.

"We asked our team to try and design something better than the iPhone 4S... and they've done that. 8mp, backside illuminated, hybrid IR filter..."

Impressed at this:
8 hours of 3G or LTE talk time or browsing. 10 hours on WiFi browsing.

That'll be enough reason for me to certainly buy one at my next upgrade time, but probably not enough for me to bother weighing on now.

I've just asked myself what I want from a phone, and this is the first time EVER I'm not sure about upgrading.

Tim Stevens 6:30 PM
8-megapixel sensor, a 5-element lens and f/2.4 aperture. Same as the iPhone 4S but thinner.

Thats all I was going off....

In my experience, iPhones never live up to apples stats. It's bad because their laptops and iPads do, but the phones don't. Is that 8 hours browsing on lowest brightness with no location on? Or is it a usable amount, most of us will have brightness at 75% (auto) and most features turned on (location for reminders, BT for the car etc).

One thing I remember from when I was a programmer for BTCellnet, is that the distance you are from the transmistter (ie how good your signal is) makes a MASSIVE difference, and they will have been testing it on their own local base station of course, so unless you have a mast on top of your house, you will never match the actual figures they give.

Has the charger/docking issue been mentioned? Hopefully it hasn't changed.

Yep that too, I work in low signal areas a lot and it kills the battery.

Has changed, they are chatting about it now, that cause so much happens wirelessly they dont need it all anymore in terms of the 9 year old wire configuration.

Dock connector mentioned now, just like the leaked pictures

Re: iPhone Event - 12/9 - 6PM UK Time - Read Post 1

so new connector is because they dont need the amount the old one does. seems a backward step imo but there we go.

Re: iPhone Event - 12/9 - 6PM UK Time - Read Post 1

They are goign to make adaptors for old dock stuff, fair enough then.

Re: iPhone Event - 12/9 - 6PM UK Time - Read Post 1

Is this going to be a standardised dock connector on all future iPads and iPods, or just for the iPhone I wonder....
