How much would I need to save to buy a decent 172/182?

Car  Suzuki Ignis Sport
The title says it all. I'm hoping to buy one in a few years or so (when I have 2 years NCB) & 2 years driving experience. How much would I need for a decent 172/182, in total (insurance and car) - cheers guys. Rough estimate, my postcode I believe is relatively good/cheaper.

Thank you.

How do you know you will have 2 years ncb in 2 years?

hard one really , plus no one knows how much the cars value will decrease in 2 years, right now a decent mint 172 probably would be between 2-3k and a mint 182 3-4k as for insurance no one will ever be able to tell you how much your insurance will be in 2 years time.

2.5 - 3k for a decent 182 including a years insurance.

About 500 less for a 172.

^^^ What he said is right for a minter.

Insurance I would of thought will be around 1-1.5k, you could get a 172 for 2k and a 182 for 3k add 500-1000 for mint ones.

Without being rude mate ask in a few years. I could give you some advice now but in three years time prices will change. ignore the above comments, that is only relative to now

No worries mate :) I don't even have a Year's no claim yet, never mind 2. Just starting to save up now, so I can afford something bigger and better in the future without worrying. Hope prices come down or I get a pay rise :o

Prices will drop as the cars without stating the obvious get older. Certain ones like the trophy, a low milaged ph1, 172 cup or popular coloured 182 will allways command a slightly more premium. 172´s will prob be around 500-800 for a nice one by the time you look, at a guess

Car will cost less than the insurance probably.

You can buy a good useable 172 for not much over a grand quite realistically.
