It's super weird how hydrogen has been slow in the takeup. You essentially could just use electrolysis on water to get Hydrogen and Oxygen, there was that Richard Hammond show on Amazon Prime that literally did this.
I mean, given there's an intent somewhere to convert gas to hydrogen for house...
Europe is the only place in the world that sniffed something and decided that diesels were the future. They certainly produce less CO2 than petrol, and so they single handedly decided that was the factor.
Bought my dad a Nissan Note 10 years ago, with those Renault 1.5 diesels in them. Because...
Hi there!
As I'm currently in the throes of breaking my wife's Clio, I was wondering about the engine. Given its 200k miles, and it failing on emissions, there's as much a chance the engine is knackered as it might be something as stupid as a sensor.
Because of the huge mileage, I can't...
Welp, that didn't help.
Despite as much heat as I would dare, attempts at getting grips on the stud only made it round up even more to the point it now slips off.
Stupid POS, off to the scrap yard.
Iknowright.
Looks like after some initial swotting that it can be removed. Guess the weekend will be spent with a blowtorch to hopefully loosen the threadlock and pliers and hoping for the best. Sigh.
Hi all,
Halfway through a cambelt swap on the wife's Clio 172, ran out of brake cleaner, so had to take a short break from it.
After two weeks before stuff arrived, got around to cleaning the engine down and began reassembly of the cambelt.
Tightening up the exhaust nut (100Nm, then was...
Hi all,
Have just replaced a door on a Clio 172.
However, one of the tiny circlips/retaining clips that the hinge pins use has decided to get blown away in a gust of wind! It's camouflaged itself on the driveway so I've no idea where it is now!
Anyone have the part number or know a quick...
Well, I took the cover off the ECU bracket, gave the connector at the top a wiggle, then the red engine light stopped blinking.
Lo and behold, the car fired up.
Freak incident, or something I should be wary of in the future?
Many thanks for the tips and advice everyone.
Ok, can't really get that much of the loom unless I take drastic action, and I'm not there yet.
I gave the UCH a few wiggles and taps, and now the immobiliser light is off, but the blinking red engine STOP is still on.
It appears to now be cranking but not sparking.
Battery has been on charge since yesterday morning, and will be on the charger to keep it topped up.
The braided gearbox earth to the body was loose on the gearbox for some reason, tightened that up and now the car is turning for about 2-3 seconds consistently now. This was the same as when I...
Getting to the end of my tether with this car.
Been out of action for a month and a half because of clutch, suspension and an exhaust (which took almost 3 weeks to sort out), and after a couple hours of test driving and about to let the wife drive it and enjoy it at last, it now refuses to...
Ordered brand new.
When I pull them all the way out, they do appear to retract a little, but not rebound to the same extent as the rear shocks when I replaced those.
Hi all,
Ordered front suspension (shocks and springs) for a non-cup 172.
Normally, I'd prime a shock by pushing the piston along its stroke a couple of times, letting it naturally return to its original position.
The shocks I've received though, stay in whatever position they've been set. I've...
Probably just to be annoying.
Airbags like ABS are a !!!SAFETY!!! ***RED ALERT*** type thing so it's made to be as completely unfriendly as possible.
Then they ironically become fragile and useless as we all know with the airbag lights coming on and such.
