    172 cutting out

As a foot note to this topic, I recently changed the TDC sensor on my car and it (touch wood) appears to have fixed the issue. A word of advice, dont be fooled by a dealership into buying the "loom" (loom my @rse its a connector with a couple of 6" wires), in most cases if the connector is...

    Parking sensors for the inept!!

Some @rse reversed their car into mine at the weekend and cracked the rear bumper, luckily there has been no other damage. What made it worse though was that two days before, I had got it back from the garage after spending £700 on it and it was abosolutely mint....grrrrrrr! Anyhow the person...

    172 Cup Spoiler light - help :-(

You know when you investigate a problem that isnt really that bad, then go that one step to far and @rse up the situation even more..... One of the bulbs has gone in my cup spoiler, just tried removing the light and have cracked the red plastic of the light. Does anyone know where I can...

    172 cutting out

Right been investigating a bit more, got home, lifted the bonnet and poked around with the engine running, couldnt see or feel any air leaks, although down at the right hand side near the air intake and battery I am sure I could hear an occaisional "psssst", what could that be? Also when I...

    172 cutting out

Hi there.... Basically my clio keeps on randomly stalling. If I key off and then try a start it runs again fine. It appears to be stalling when dipping the clutch when changing gear or coasting up to a junction that kind of thing, i.e. no throttle input. It seems to happen whether the engine...

    Missing washer jet

Washing my car the other day and noticed that the little ball that sits in the washer jet has gone missing! Cant believe that it has just fallen out, but equally cant believe anyone would be bothered to steal it (unless they have the same problem of course!!) Anyway been to the Crewe Dealer...

    Clio paint qaulity

If you run your finger over them they feel like chips rather than being raised. I might try giving it a going over with some clay. That might help I guess!

    Clio paint qaulity

Has anyone else noticed that the paintwork on their clio seems to be extremley thin or not very hard (possibly both?). Had my 172 for a while now but it seems as it only has to see the smallest possible grain of sand and a chip appears on the bonnet that goes all the way through to the...

    My clio has a nubbin..?

Ahhh good stuff, I was thinking about removing it by wrapping some dental floss round it and then attatching the other end to a door and slamming it shut!

    My clio has a nubbin..?

Sorry if its an old question, I have had a search but couldnt find anything. On the bottom of my near-side wing mirror I have a little nubbin. There isnt one on the off-side. Is it the thermometer for the outside temperature, or is there something genetically wrong with my car? I have...

    ..why are 172s so good?

Trouble with the S2k is that it doesnt have that much more torque that the 172 and I like torque. I agree that the S2000 is one of the few convertibles that dont require the driver to have a fake tan and a perm! That punto sounds amazing!

    ..why are 172s so good?

Recently I have been contemplating selling me 172 and getting a Honda S2000 as I am worried about the residuals on the 172 dropping badly when the new Renaultsport model is released, plus I thought it would be a good way to cut down the amount of rubbish I have to transport whenever I go...

    Motorway debris

Just had a quote from chipsaway.. £180 to fix to patch the side skirt and front right bumper. New skirt from Renault will be £102 quid and another 100 to paint..... but will then have to pay another £70 to repair the front bumper. So choices are do it properly or patch it up.....

    Motorway debris

Can anyone help? I was driving on the M53 near Chester when confronted with a pair of aluminium step ladders lying across the road. I managed to swerve and miss most of them but just clipped the (sharp) end. They have scratched the front right which is repairable but they have punched a hole...
