Trouble with the S2k is that it doesnt have that much more torque that the 172 and I like torque. I agree that the S2000 is one of the few convertibles that dont require the driver to have a fake tan and a perm! That punto sounds amazing!

Just had a quote from chipsaway.. £180 to fix to patch the side skirt and front right bumper. New skirt from Renault will be £102 quid and another 100 to paint..... but will then have to pay another £70 to repair the front bumper. So choices are do it properly or patch it up.....

22 when I got a 172!

Servicing wise a few years ago there was a bit of an issue with dealers refusing to touch imports, but I think the government had a go at them and now most warranties cover the car no matter what country it was bought from. Knowing Renault though, they will probably still be a bit iffy about it...

I had 2K rattle that seemed to strangely disappear everytime the car approached the dealer (dammit!!), also had to have a replacement gauge cluster as the fuel gauge packed up. Apart from that a very very sound car... and when it is polished I still get comments on it!

Is it normal for the 172 to have an induction whistle at low RPM? I personally think it sounds pretty cool, but I was talking to someone and they said it may be due to a hole somewhere in the air intake pipe!

Yep mine does it as well! But I reckon it is worth it for when they are warmed up.... :D

You shouldnt have to hit the limitor, it should come on as you hit the peak power of the engine, so any perfectly timed gear changes should do it! I was a bit disappointed when I saw mine, I thought is was going to be flashing red or something, days of thunder stylee!
