Thanks very much mate, as long as you don't look too closely it's not doing too bad for the age they are now.
The escort was a case of never meet your hero's for me. Always wanted one from being a kid and bought one on 19k miles and dream spec that was probably too good to enjoy properly...
Photo was taken at the weekend but took it out and kicked it’s head in again today on my lunch break.
Still getting grief From pretty much everyone I know that I sold my Escort Cosworth and kept a Clio but it’s the most fun I’ve had driving a car for years!
Had the over run map that was put on buy the previous owner removed yesterday.
Best money I've spent on the car so far, fell like much less of a knob driving it and its much less lumpy / hesitant on cold start.
That petrol blue one, dear me.......
Both sides of the car need paint.
Wheels are shagged.
No belt change.
Gangsta tints.
Wrong coolant.
Exhaust hangers are knackered.
Crap advert.
Worse pictures.
Painful pre-sale "marketing"
Paint costs alone makes it a lost cause, its almost a full shoot by...

For the plastics get yourself a bottle of "Elbow grease" spray cleaner from B&M / home bargains etc.
It's normally less than a quid and its great for taking the sticky coating off the interior plastics. Just scrape the thick of it off with a plastic card then rub whats left off with the spray...
I had one of these in silver with a golf gti engine in when I first passed my test, basically a mk1 golf gti in disguise.Only ever went wrong once, with it being based on a mk1 it has the shitty metal fuel filler neck which rots, fill the tank full of s**t and clogs the fuel system. Not a...
Water pump if you want to,crank pulley bolt (only a couple of quid),change the oil & filter if you have the dephaser done,if your rocker cover leaks then now is the time to have that sorted as well (probably an extra hour labour at most places).
Cheers Ross.
I went for a cup a coming from always having older cars as toys the lack of comforts didn't really bother me as I didn't notice they were missing. The interior is pretty shite in either model to be honest but both are comfy enough for long journeys etc. That said the lights on it are not that...
