Face it. ALL cars make it down the food chain. You can't stop that. But you can offset that boy-racer stereotype, by ensuring that you don't drive your Clio like a twonk.

ditto. Love it, as it adds and extra bit of flair and theatre to the driving. I'm driving a Polo auto at the moment, and I soooo miss blipping, and heal and toe, although i'm knocking the gearbox down a few gears (D 3 2 1) when necessary, and I've sussed at which revs to do this for a seamless...
mate, what was the driving position like please? If you don't mind me asking, how tall are you? I'm 6ft. The reason I got rid of my C172 was because the wonky driving position killed my back. If this has not been fixed on the C197, then there's no way I'd buy one.
g
i believe that the 5th and 6th gears have been made taller, so in 6th at 75mph you're not bouncing off the rev limiter anymore ;-)
i don't have the tech data though.
g
cool beans!
Ballsie - i was all for the R27, until i heard reno were tweaking the ratios on 5th and 6th gear. Plus, i won't get my butt into gear to get an R27 before they're all snapped up, so i have to defer to the recently formed Plan E. :-)

guys, if not now, but over the course of the next few months, will it be possible to order:
- a stock 197 with the revised gear ratios, with...
- with the cup handling package as an option, with...
- the Recaros as an option
if so, I'm liking this combo :-)
cheers,
g
guys, what is the list price of R27, and what's a reasonable price to pay discount-wise?
FYI - my nearest dealer is on the Bath Road in Slough/Cippenham, or Reading. I'm not sure if there's one near Staines or in Maidenhead anymore.
cheers,
g
you must have hit some diesel/grease/oil in the road.
i had my 172 for five 'robust' driving years; the only time it snapped on me was when i hit some diesel on the road. Cars do not just 'snap' on normal roads at speeds relative to the bend.

Hey, alright? Hope you guys are well.
Ok, so I sold my Flamer C172 earlier this year to a lad on here. Since then I've been chilling in a 100k, Polo 1.4 Auto. Yep, it's every bit as dull as it sounds, but after years of fast cars, it's also a curiously liberating experience (costs peanuts to...
No, the test simulates hitting a car of equivalent weight in an offset collision, the most common of all accidents that lead to injury. An offset collision is even more demanding that a 100% head-on, as it concentrates the load on a smaller area. The barrier is deformable not to make test...
