Why did you decide to remove the front spacers? has the rear got stub axle spacers? Looks a nice Cup, enjoy it.

wondering that myself. doesnt look like its got rear stub axles spacers. they sit much nicer on them front and back, recently fitted both to mine and looks so much better and didnt notice any difference to the drive. looks a nice example though.

Il be honest, I wanted to see how it felt/handled with and without front spacers.
On Monday I had a check round the front brakes, a nice little surprise was awaiting me, both front lower Carrier sliders seized solid (one snapped).
So no test drive :(, I have a new pair of carriers freshly powder coated inc new bigred slider kit arriving Friday.

Sorted the brakes over the weekend,
Fitted both front reman caliper carriers & slider pins kit. Had great fun with the disc retaining screws, all four extremely tight.
One of the 4 screw's this being the worst, the other 3 came off with tones of persuasion.

Brake power is now back : )

PBS Protrack pads & Brembo HC discs came Friday afternoon.

Im not looking at doing a track day till after the end of august so, wont be fitting them just yet, the Oem discs & pads on at the moment have plenty of life left.
also will be re-fitting the 16mm spacers on the front, then some stub axle rear spacers eventually.

A few updates on the Cup,

Managed to grab a RS Sabelt steering wheel and sell the RS performance one pretty quickly, definitely feels nicer to grip, I will give the interior a good detail soon as this great weather improves.

Even with the two SRS resistors fitted the SERV/Air bag light illuminate so I will try bending the contacts on the themselves to make a better connection.

Parts to fit----
Nankang NS-2RS
Pro Track PBS pads
Brembo HC front disc's
Rear ARB
Coolant change
Gear selector bush (potentially)
My new plate photobombing the tires pic :)

I have to juggle getting the Clio ready & giving my Vts attention, below a pic of the old girl.
She's not in the worst state but needs a fair bit of welding & tidying up.

Back to the Clio!

The main thing I would like to sort on the Cup is seats, the seating position is way to high for me, so I will be on the look out for some decent bucket seats & lowered frames.
In the meantime, its getting ready for track, making sure everything is 100%.

Hey everyone,

Update on the Cup.

A track day at Cadwell started off a very foggy morning but cleared up with the whole day being sunny. The Clio was excellent not missing a beat apart from a squeaky clutch cable when hot.
Car Spec on the day,
-Nankang NS-2r Tires
-Pbs Front Pads + Brembo HC Disc's
-Oem Shocks + Grams Spring's

Since my last post, the car has had:

- Bilstein B14 coilovers.

- Non-resonated K-Tec Stealth exhaust.
1000012396.jpg

- Sparco Evo 2 seats.

- Jonfoz XL frames.
- Powerflex camber bolts.
- Pure motorsport Rear stub axle 10mm spacers.
- Rear calipers.

A trip to AKS Tuning Bedford for wheel alignment fast road setup.

After fitting everything lately, it will be interesting to see what changes have been made the next time I go on track.

Who doesn't love working on cars with a sunset backdrop? Rear stub axle 10 mm Pure Motorsport spacers installed. I noticed the rear brake lines going to the caliper have seen better days, so bright blue HEL lines were ordered, i will replace them soon..

I'm planning on replacing the cambelt + water pump very soon especially before any track days. Also repainting the bonnet due to a poor quality job done previously. I plan to just enjoy the Cup now through summer. Maybe a few trips to C&M the bowl, if anyone is local to Bedford N'hants I'll keep an eye out for meets etc.

That's all for now.... :) PS the headlamps will be polished very soon .

Small updates on the Cup.

Fitted rear braided brake lines as the originals were past their best.

Some fresh brake fluid and she's back on the road stopping properly.

Jobs for this month:

Cambelt kit + pump

Rear wheel bearings

Paint bonnet

Polish headlights

Also, something I have been on the lookout for nearly a year now: a pair of Cup 172 badges.

I have purchased a tube of badge adhesive from America just for the job, due to my old ones flying off.

Fingers crossed the cambelt job goes smoothly.
Thanks for checking in for a small read :)

Looking great, wish I was able to do this sort of work myself.

What badge adhesive did you go for, recently one of my 2's came of I used some thin 3M tape and a scalpel, it was a bloody nightmare!
