I've got a bit of a soft spot for the Renault 19 and Citroen ZX. Can't be many left now!

How about the MG Maestro EFI and Turbo? Obviously they rusted for fun, but the tubby was a rocketship for the time, and even the regular MG was supposed to drive quite well:

The Maestro is a proper ugly ducking.

Still a worth mention though.

It is, but they have grown on me recently. There's something about the Lego-brick looks. My mate rallied one in the early '90s and it looked decent on a set of Compomotive wheels (which he had custom drilled to suit its weird stud pattern  )

Wasn't there only 400 or so ever made? Jonny Smith did a barn find one recently

I presume this Museum will have mandatory drip trays to collect the car juices?

So for a bit of fun here is some of the ideas of parts of the museum. Each section will have 5-10 cars.

So to start of

The first section is „Origin” the story of the Hot Hatch.
This is a section for the first of the Hot Hatch kind and the culture around Hot Hatches.

To start you off.

1. Mk 1 Golf GTI
2.
3.
4.
5.

Renault 5 turbo, Fiesta XR2 and Peugeot 205 Gti to go with the Golf.

There were a few other less well known hot hatches of the era, but those really cemented the winning formula. More powerful engine, better suspension and the looks to go with it.

Edited because I kinda forgot the Hot Hatch part and just went old and cool.

We're not talking about what is the best hot hatch, we're talking about obscure/unusual ones which the bravo is.
It wasn't bloody hot though. I bought a mint white one in 2000, took some finding as they were pretty rare even then and a month later one of the neighbours rocked up in an identical one! 😂

A few more for the museum.

Always wanted a Panda 100hp, I think I will still entertain one in the future!

Took a Mazda 323 4X4 in against an RS Escort Turbo and smoked that for 6 months. It was a bit different and a rare beast.

Similar situation with the Charade but ended up owning one for a year before trading it in for a 205 GTi. These were very quick little cars. Again rare as hen's teeth now.

I smoked one of these for a year. They never really took off and were a bit heavy, but the supercharger sounded pretty good. Another rare piece.

I loved my Scala. One of the best cars I owned. The build quality was on another level compared to the rest of the VW range. Heavy as hell, flat as a fart, but always drew attention.
