Merry Christmas

For Christmas i got a set of copper nuts, which i thought would like nice against the anthracite wheels.Fitted one corner this morning to see what they look like, just wondering on how long they will keep to the copper colour.I have gave them a little coat of acf also.

There a bit smaller than the other nuts i have on,19 and copper are now 17.

They look the business! Awesome detail. Bet they cost a pretty penny too!
Was on my christmas list,i just have my doubts on how long they will stay like that.I have gave them a coat in acf,so will prob have to do that each time i wash the wheels.

I did have a mate on instagram who had them and they went all crap after using wheel cleaner on them, but i tend to only really spray wheel cleaner on the spokes.

Anyone gone from a normal battery to a lightweight batt and not for a track car?.
Possibly looking to get a lightweight batt fitted,as looks much better on the engine bay and also frees up space etc.Alex White and Nick have one fitted to there clios and runs fine with no need to keep on charge etc.

Photo of Nicks bay with his lightweight batt,i wont be going that big on the filter tho 😆

I had a lightweight battery fitted to mine and unless you charge it often or drive it daily I wouldn't bother. Glad to be back on a normal one but at times I don't drive or charge the Clio for weeks.

Have you ever done this then mate of either options?
I relocated a smaller battery in the boot and in all honesty, not worth the hassle. Bit of a ball ache to fit imho, running a cable though the bulkhead and under carpet, fitting a whopping fuse in line etc. That said, the car was doing my head in at the time! The battery died after not using it for 2 weeks, I bought a CTEK charger which saved it and did maintain it when it was on charge.

So another thing to consider if you do go for a smaller battery is the ability to keep it on charge, do you have a garage driveway where you can run a charger?

IF you did want to relocate the battery, then go for a normal size battery, that way you'll have no fear of it not starting after a few days.

I See what your saying about putting the battery in the boot,it is a lot of hassle and then having a big lump in the back which will just look ugly.

Tempted with the small batt in the front still tho, spoken to my Renault Specialist and he has one in his 182 runabout along with Nick who works with him and both never had any probs.I guess if in the front it can be easily changed if i dont get on with it @bowen86

I've had a pc680 in my 200 for a few years, only recently where it's not being driven for long periods of time am I finding the battery dead.

When It was being used more regularly I had no issues at all, just sounded slightly lazier when cranking on startup.

If you're going to be using it more than a few times a month it'll be fine

Make a plate to fit to the gearbox mount in the bay? That was what my intentions were when I was thinking about it, along with a negative terminal cut off. Similar has been done by a few already

Changed the PMS solid top mounts to the brand new BC solid top mounts,i got these when i bought the coilovers, also removed the PMS strut brace.I feel its a bit to much for a road car .Also like the fact the BC ones are brand new and camber adjustable.

So i have up for sale my PMS front strut brace and PMS solid top mounts, there the old type and could do with new bearings. Also some eibach camber bolts.

Gone back to the oe shock and spring set up with the BC's.As i think its a better set up for my use on the roads as not a track car.

So the rear bc coilover conversion kit will be up for sale soon.

Also the coilover covers maybe up for sale also,as i will need smaller covers just for the rear dampers.

Apart from that all is good and past its mot for another year👍🏻

So with the new rears in place and a test drive to work this morning,no knocks bangs etc.

I have spoken to Jasper at BC racing about setting up the rear seperate shock spring set up and this is what he has said, anyone done there set up this way also with bc's?

"When setting the preload on a separate spring and damper for example on the rear you not only need to adjust the spring perch but the damper length also. This is done by first setting the rear ride height using the spring perch and adjusters, once this is set you can then add a little extra spring preload by using a jack to jack up the rear arm where the spring sits, we recommend roughly 5-7mm. Then leaving the jack in position you then need to thread the damper either in or out of it's bottom mount so the bolt holes line up and it bolts through with ease. This should mean your rear spring is now preloaded correctly and when on full droop there is no movement of the spring in between its mounts"
