Well, mine did it as well, and yes, on #3 cylinder (and while checking the others, #1 didn't tighten either. I have a Facom timesert set coming (tbh it looks like the cheap ebay ones....), but hey, who can afford the Würth sets? :eek: I get the general principle, ( liberally grease the tap) but...

Thanks mate, when i screwed it back in it seemed tight and no movement so I think I have got away with it...

Am I right in thinking cylinder #3 is the third from the right?

Will see how it runs with new plugs and leads. If its still lumpy then I may need to do this but I dont think I dare attempt it myself!

4,3,2,1 - 1 being nearest to the flywheel

Then it is the standard cylinder #3 that has ejected itself...

Lets see if new plugs and leads gets it running normally again. If its still rough or comes out again then I will follow what @Matt Cup said and rethread it. Hopefully I get away with it though as I am not confident enough to do it myself!

If the new plug torques up ok should be fine. Usually come loose due to not torqued correctly.

Yeah if it's held the torque 25-30Nm, then it should be ok.

A couple of the spark plugs were a bit corroded but all changed, cylinder 3 that ejected itself screwed in no problem and now torqued to spec. new leads and plugs and she’s back to normal.

Shout out to @FrogJam Motorsport for getting the leads to me next day. A free Freddo in the box too so I almost made my money back. Sticker added +7hp

Been out in the nice weather having a tinker and making sure everything is in order for a drive out on sunday with the @CliosandCoffeeCal lot. The PBS brake pads are doing my head in, so squealy, any recommendations for some quieter pads?

I am suffering with a dodgy speedo, sometimes it reads 10mph too slow, sometimes 10mph too fast, any ideas on that?

Also noticed a bit of an oil leak coming from the gearbox which was mentioned on the MOT, I am going to presume selector shaft? I am also going to presume this is completely normal and I just need to keep topping it up every couple of months?

If you're not going on track, just stick some stock pads in.

I never had any noise with PBS pads though.

Been away but had my private plates made up to go on when I got back. Car fired up first time as well which is always nice and no serious leaks on the drive, a few drops but ordered some gearbox oil to top it up.

Pads are now squeaking all the time so I’ll get it booked in to get some fresh ones in and bed them correctly. Standard brembo is probably the way I will go.

Booked in for sports cars in the park on 4th May at newby hall and Toying with the idea of Croft on the 15th may but don’t want to break anything!

Decided to top up the gearbox oil as I have a leaky seal and it was definitely beginning to feel a bit less smooth on gear changes.

I followed the hosepipe guide and was waiting for the leak out but the hosepipe created a perfect seal and muggins didn’t think to put a catch tray down…

Waste of £15 millers. But changes are now silky smooth again.

Also, I had the same with PBS pads. Both track and race (race I assumed would) squealed all the time. I bedded them in, fitted new discs etc still squealed. Good pads though, on a track day. Not for pootling around town.

Did you take the anti rattle shims out?

I had to put a sealant down on my driveway as it was such a state due to my cars incontinence. But that above is an impressive amount to lose.

Mine isnt sealed but there has been many car oils all over it.

Im shocking when it comes to catching the old oil during a service but my favourite was loosing most of the gearbox oil when the drive shaft fell out during a ball joint change!

Read on one of the guides to get a funnel and hose pipe to get it in the hole. Then it would leak out the hole as it was full.

However the hosepipe somehow created a perfect seal so when I pulled the pipe out it then leaked everywhere.

The pads came on the car, I’ll go back to standard brembos, probably only manage a couple of track days a year and I’m hardly senna.

First track day for myself and the Clio at Oulton Park Yesterday, drove 150 miles there and back and got a few decent stints out on track.

Was pretty intimidated when people were rolling Ginettas and Radicals off trailers but once out there had a ball. ABS and ESC light came on and the speedo stuck on 60 a few laps in, exhaust has melted the bumper trims as one of the hangers has slipped, but other than that it seems to have no other issues. Car was really planted and certainly didnt "feel slow".

Losing 1 abs sensor shouldn't kill the speedo reading as far as I know.

I've had one die at Oulton and it was fine.

Finally got the car back from being in the garage for a couple of weeks, they haven't had any luck getting parts. They aren't a specialist so I am not surprised but I would rather find someone nearby with a bit more knowledge, does anyone have someone comfortable with 182's in north/west yorkshire?

Full service and adjusted the exhaust so it now fits flush with the bumper.

It was indeed a couple of dud rear ABS sensors, they couldn't get a rear left to fit, so i have ordered one myself from MPH automotive, presume its an easy fit considering they already pulled the old one out, bolt it on and clip it in job?

They also said that the driveshafts leaking and they can't get the parts. Can someone point me in the right direction or as above, someone with a bit more know how?

Hoping to get everything sorted in time for another track day at Oulton Park/Croft in July.

Shaftec are more money but they're essentially a refurbished genuine part.

You want R396L which replaces 8200372167.

You can get them easily enough, but sounds like your garage couldn’t be arsed. A common theme with these old cars.

You should be able to pick them up online, but DMFX in Darlington isn’t a million miles away and they’ve supplied me with a few over the years.

Its a shame you don’t fancy tackling the job yourself as you’ll gain good knowledge through trial and error, and it’ll save you a few quid in the long run.

I’d do it for you but I can’t be arsed either 😂

New abs sensor in, took a bit of bashing to get it in but abs and esc lights are now out.
If anyone needs an ABS sensor MPH Automotive had it in stock and sent next day.

I’ve ordered both driveshafts from shaftec but don’t think I will attempt that myself. Cheers @Mr Underhill for the part numbers.

Just keep an eye on the drivers side inner CV boot on the shaftec shafts. I've had 2 fail on me where they just unseat from the inner CV cup and then slather grease all over everything

In the end I got a Borg and Beck item, cut 10mm off the block so it doesn't catch and it's been find since *crosses fingers*

Never heard of that one before. R396R (right-hand side) is the correct part number for your car. But as above, 44 tooth pickup ring.
