Snappy steering wheel looks lovely!

I managed to pick up interior trim from a bog standard mk2 Clio and replaced my sticky ones as even after cleaning them I wasn't happy with them.

Exchange basis, i will get a refund once returned.
Hope you don't mind me asking.
How much did your retrimed wheel set you back? (Before exchange refund, since I'm not in the UK)

Also whats the best method in contacting Snappy these days? Went through Facebook many years ago.

£200. I would imagine prices depend on what finish you want.

Coming along nicely. Had more time to go for a proper drive now everything has settled ready for alignment on Tuesday.

As soon as i sent the car down my favourite B road I could feel something wasn’t right. Slight knock and the car would wonder when bedding brakes in.

I had my suspicions which was confirmed when i removed the wheels. I nipped the camber bolts up with buzz gun but didn’t tighten by hand afterwards. They weren't tight enough so moving around.

Hand tightened, road tested again and all ok. The difference even before alignment is massive, really pleased with the Konis. Currently have them set to full soft all round.

Got back and gave the cup a quick clean and hoover. Fitted new car mats and number plate light.

Tomorrow if i get time i’m going to restore all the black trims with Gtechniq trim restorer i have spare.

Also need to remove spoiler and sort brake light.

I’m also in the process of sourcing non sticky trim pieces as mine don’t look as good now cleaned.

All in all, very pleased. Ironically i prefer driving it to the EP3.

I really like the shifter knob on the ph1 172.

Would it be odd to fit the same shifter to the cup? It’s a nicer weight which i feel gives a more positive shift.

I agree with you comments with regarding the weight over the standard. Just feels more substantial. Even better when the red plastic bushes are ditched and replaced with some brass bushes under the tower.

Be careful with the bushes. I had some that made it so tight it wouldn't move into gear. Then I couldn't get them out again...

Cant remember where i got them from.

Yeah, I read about that! Luckily had 2 sets. So paired two halfs that had the greatest tolerance. Plus added some lithium grease.

Pretty sure I got them through Facebook

Easy fix that. I found the oem nut/washer binds them up when fully tightened. New washer and nut solved the issue, failing that removing a mm of the brass on a belt sander will give the same result.

Much better. Caster is only @ 2.5 degrees mind. Pretty sure i’ve seen 3 degrees prevously.

Any thoughts or just leave it alone?

Also rear left is - 0.40 toe and rear right is +1.30 toe.

Camber is pretty much bang on @ left rear -1.46 and right rear -1.40.

Any ideas on what the problem is and how to sort?

Cheers in advance.

A bar in between the bracket for the rear beam and the bushing, reef on it and see how much it moves

This car had new rear discs fitted a few months ago by a random garage. If they haven’t fitted the spacers behind discs, would this create noticeable movement in the hub that would cause alignment to be out?

Yes. You'd also see it if they weren't torqued to spec.

You sure it has no shims?

Very sure. I can ever so slightly wobble the rear wheels with car on ground hands 9 and 3 o’clock.

Car was aligned 800 miles ago and zero issues. Wheels were refurbished a few months before alignment so they haven’t been knocked as mint.
