Snappy steering wheel looks lovely!

I managed to pick up interior trim from a bog standard mk2 Clio and replaced my sticky ones as even after cleaning them I wasn't happy with them.

Has anyone tried using a heat gun on plastics like the airbag cover to remove marks and scratches?
