Not bad car..took one for a spin on Monday, just keep waiting patiently for the brochure you will get one eventually. Have to say that I prefer the 172 though..sorry.
Sorry guys..I live down near Brighton but work in Worthing. Plus the V6 is one of the company pool cars..so technically it isnt actually mine but I get to give it a good hiding every now and again. The Willy is more or less standard as that is the way I intend to keep it - apart from the almost...
As I am already a member of easytrack I can highly recommend what they do. Wherever the trackday is you are sure to have a good laugh and a great day out..just let me know where it is gonna be!
Just got all my servicing bits for my Williams from a site on the net, great value and next day delivery plus it was about half price compared to my local rip-off Renault dealer!
Eurocarparts.co.uk (and no I dont work for them or get commission!)
Usual thing, check all oil gauges etc.. Take spark plugs out and have a scout at them? Could be lots of things from the easy i.e. leads, plugs or could be serious i.e. new ecu, injector anything.
At least it will sound the dogs nuts!!
Just whip off the standard crap black box, stick in a new filter thats open to the elements (K&N..etc) and then try to rig up a new cold air feed. I took a blanking panel out of my willy front bumper next to the n/s fog light and attached a cold air feed from there, works a treat. Probably haver...
Just started my own thread on this..see williams suspension, been on the phone to Demon Tweeks and they quoted original replacements (not sure if 60mm or not) at £60 the pair!! Renault were £85ish each!!!
Good point, Ive been looking for one too. Even considered starting my own - easy money I reckon!! Why not start one between us all?? A sort of fanzine effort for starters? Show the rest of the Ford/VW crew who rules!!
OK assuming he has no mods at all, and it is the standard RS2000 and not the 4x4 version, the specs are.
Power - 150bhp and 142lb/ft
Speed - 132 max 0-60 8.2 secs
Might sound pretty good, but with all that extra weight and a crap gearbox reckon you could just about do him, have to be on...

Does any know the specs of the original springs?? I want to replace mine but dont want the handling to be effected. Renault will only replace like for like and I want them to be uprated slighty but not uprated and lowered!! Anybody done this before, or any ideas??

I dont recommened the no clutch shifting technique!! I first heard of this on a track day - take it right to the limiter and on the first blip, bam slip it into the next cog. It works really well until my input shaft bearing deceided to shed its rollers all over the place!! New set of bearings...
As you went over the manhole cover, your opposite would of had more grip and it would account for the slight pulling to one side, coupled with the fact that all manhole covers seem to be in a 4inch pit wouldnt of helped! Dont worry about it.

Very strange, it fires up with a intro that is in Flash then goes to the main site. Try pumping this in... http://www.renaultsport.co.uk/172cup/concept.htm and see if you divert to the main site.
Is that from cold?? Does it stop when the thing is all warm? Could be the piston rings wearing and burning oil when the revs and loading is high. Most cars do this at that age. Keep flogging it, if it dies get a new one, but have fun in the meantime.
