Isn't the bone of contention the fact that in the past he advertised the car without mentioning it was a cat D in the advert? This IMO is a bit underhand. Usually when a car like this is for sale the seller is up front that it has been written off in the past.
A lot of the fuss being made now...
Yes, I'd get it done pronto if I was you. Not worth the risk of it letting go.
They are great cars. Had mine for about 18 months now and still love it. Still really relish any opportunity to go out and thrash it! Still learning little things about the handling and how to drive it well though...
No problem.
Remember that where ever you get it done it should be cheaper than a 172 FF as the Cup does'nt have the air con gubbins getting in the way (less labour).
Head down to Rentec mate. They are near Portsmouth, they have a website for exact location.
Had mine done there a few months ago. Much cheaper than my local dealerships. Used by loads of people on here, very good reputation. You obviously won't keep the full Renault service history (but thats...
Agree with that.
Although who was it who said Mark Fish had given it the thumbs up?.....Subway I expect!
If everythings straight though you could get a bit of a bargain.
LOL! Thats quite a funny thing to happen! Weird it popped the light like that.
I hit a pigeon at around 70mph in my parents Astra once. Took the nearside wing mirror clean off!
I was going to mention that. I'm getting raped for my exhaust and cat
I'm 24 too. £700 on a 300bhp Focus sounds very reasonable. How many no claims do you have?
I'm with Elephant. Found a lot of companies would'nt touch 172 Cups unless you were 25.
FWIW I've driven Dan's (Peperami) Cup on a couple of occasions and its a good 'un. Pulls hard through the gears and the brakes feel great. With some choice mods its great value for money at £6k.
You are talking b****cks.
Of course a 1*2 is a hot hatch. You're talking about cars like the Astra VXR or Focus ST with 220bhp plus - so what? They're so heavy a 1*2 has similar or better power to weight anyway.
Yep £350 is a decent price at a good independent. Would'nt bother with the Renault dealerships, it'll cost much more.
Get it done mate, seems to be a spate of cambelts snapping at the moment!
Every 72k miles or 5 years, which ever comes first. Auxilary belt should be changed on 36k service (thats the one Renault dealers forget sometimes  )
Agree with Dan. Your a mug putting off a cambelt change. Total false economy if you get caught out.
