Last Thursday on the way back from work on my favourite roundabout. It was deliberate though
The roads are getting incredibly slick. When I pull out of my car park first thing in the morning I can feel the front wheels sliding on full lock at 2mph.
My drivers side seat belt has stopped pulling back in properly when I un-buckle it. It pulls in a little then hangs too loose. It made a rubbing noise and felt stiff when I put it on the other day - think thats when it broke :S
Please say theres a cheap and easy fix for this!
Yep. Has'nt effected the operation so I'm not too fussed. When I did some research before someone said it can be cured by changing the cable IRRC but may well return after a while.
I only hear the scraping noise when pulling away from lights etc. Not once I'm on the move. But thats probably because it only happens when hovering around the biting point.
The first time the clutch creaked was when I got stuck in stop start traffic for a while in warm weather. The car got...
Think mine makes the same noise you're talking about. Been doing it for a few months now. Still seems to drive fine and stand up to regular abuse so I'm not worried really. Clutch is definately not slipping.
Mine also creaks when it gets hot (been doing so for 6 months now) - pretty sure thats...
Exhausts do seem to be consumables on 172s' (2 mid sections is taking the piss though!)
Rollo - any idea why you're going though gearboxes like that? I know they're not the strongest but thats taking the piss. How many miles is that over?
Seems that some just get Friday afternoon cars unfortunately.
At the end of the day are there any manufacturers that can boast truely bullet proof reliability? Especially in this price bracket?
Had mine for 18 months, covered nearly 20k (its on just over 50k now). Only problems have been 4k rattle followed by back box dropping off, a clip broke on the drivers side electric window, gear gator had to be replaced (£7 IRRC) when a clip broke.
All in all nothing major has gone wrong and...
Axle tramp - when wheelspin causes vibration basically. Feels like the wheels are juddering.
Mine does if I give a tad too much beans off the line. Not enough to get proper wheel spin, just too much.
Stinka - perhaps your tyres are crap/knackered if its doing it that easily? I've never had...
No. Hardly an upgrade, more like a sideways step.
32k your 172 will just be getting run in nicely!
Save your money and buy something different or mod your 172.
Amen to that :D
Although after Baggins roundabout escapade....
Personally I'd go for a ph1 over a ph2 FF. Reasons being I much prefer the look of the ph1 standard for standard. Cheaper! Cable throttle thrown in too.
