Yeah, yeah.........but the 172 Cup is still the daddy! ;)
Good thread Ian. The other day I re-read the Evo review where the Cup smacked it against the Focus RS, Cooper S and Impreza WRX. It is interesting to read how the RS Clios' were recieved when they came out.
But aside from what the...
It will obviously be more tail happy than a non-strippd Clio. Won't the roll cage go some way to keeping some weight over the rear axel?
I suppose you're looking at similar weight distribution to the old Clio Cup racers; not like they had any trouble keeping them on the track..........:S
I think if you stayed off the motorway and knew what you were doing - maybe it would work. Trouble is you'd need at least 3 guys to pull off the raid, so with them, their shooters and all the money the poor old Clio is going to be weighed down a bit. My car feels significantly slower 3 up than...
What is this necking you speak of?
Spot on with the rest of that post. Agree that using power to pull out of a slide could make things worst if you don't know what you're doing (hence why I've never tried it! although I hope I'd have the presence of mind to do it if I had too).
The one time...
Is it? I've just read a load of crap about GDI v Ben R on a previous page. Amusing as it is it detracts from the thread.
ben_p - hats off to you for this mate. Just read the thread from start to finish. Amazed at the amount of work (and cash!) you've put into this. Awesome project
Its a crap analogy. It would only work if in the past I had bought a cat D car from Subway without being aware. Then I found out. And then I went back and bought another car from him.
Simple as that.
I'd say another critical thing when looking at a Cat D is how much the resale value will be and how long you intend to keep it. If you intend to keep the car for a long time resale value probably matters less due to normal depreciation.
See my 'Bit of a mug' comment.
Thing is if people were honest there would be no need for the HPI check.
At the end of the day though the OP started this thread knowing full well the car is cat D. So there was'nt really a need to drag Subways name through the mud again!
How would you feel if you found out your car was cat D and you'd paid full whack for it?
Pissed off? Bit of a mug?

Thats ok, he was only trying to make money?
