This is no good :/ You need to make a run on 3 gear from 2000rpm to 7000rpm on WOT (wide open throttle) do not play with acceleration pedal, floor it all the way till red line.
Check it for Yourself. Run RS Tuner, select "load log" and select the log file. Than select the parameters (Engine...
181bhp at the wheels would be an insane result
Since mine is ph1 it's lighter than Yours
1110kg ready for a track, and 1150kg for normal use
partyboy23 I would strongly sugesst to weight the car on some motor scale on a scrap yard (I did it myself, with me inside, and it turned out to be...

You can always weight Your car on a scrap yard :) I did it :)
RS Tuner shows the power at the wheels so 181bph would be massive ;)
From what I've heard, throttle should never open to full 90 degrees.
OK
From the top:
When You go on the road, set everything up, and start loging.
When the ride is over press, Save Data Log and select "togle all" to save all engine parameters (not only those 15 You were watching while loging)
Now You can easily preview all engine parameters, choosing which will...
RSTuner and the software it comes with improves power output throughout entire rev range + the benefit of 7800rpm rev limit (for N-Group program) makes You go quicker before You need to change gear
This is my example (Work is still in progress, calibrations are made by Henk and uploaded with...
This was just the engine part :) There is still much work to be done on exhaust and CAF.
182 4-2-1 exhaust mani is on the way :) but for this moment I have no idea what aftermarket exhaust to fit with it.
My sweet little project is almost finished :)
Lets get to the point :)
This was before:
Just basic modifications:
- decat
- RS inlet manifold (modified by myself)
- GREEN Air filter
2 passes, same road both ways
Then I bought RS Tuner :D
My best run on N-Group program +...
sorry :( no pics, it was in the car the moment I finished it.
Dremel tools comes with all kind of "heads" You can sand and polish any way You like
To polish it You need something like this...
Dremel tool with flexible head is nice for that job :) I've used it on my RS stamped inlet mani, works perfect :) But it took few hours till I made it as I wanted
Caister, can You check Your Live data logs (previous and current) , and tell us the Air inlet temp. ?? Mine is about 35-40 degrees celsius on stock air feeds. I wonder how big the difference is with PTFE Gaskets.
Got one in my CB0M ph1, I feel good about it, it's nice and shiny, and my reving problem on idle is gone now :) For me it was a good deal :) I was hoping for some gains but if at all it will be a group effort, throttle, inlet and few other things.
I'm not going for RR just to measure the...
So I'm fitting CatCams 412 as we speak, and I was wondering if there is anything I can do about air intake to tune the engine a little bit more :)
What I installed so far:
- Green air filter in standard 172 ph1 box
- throttle body polished by HeadTune
- RS stamped lower inlet mani, increased...
This one is quite old but worth checking out :) Gives an idea of what it can do in 172 :)

Rotrex is on my wishlist for a long time now :)
One way or the other, go find some garage with oil pressure tester and check the real oil pressure. It might be something electrical or oil pressure sender itself, but it needs to be checked
I had this problem a month ago :( The car was runing fine when cold, whean it warmed up the oil and stop light was coming up, when reving over 1500rpm it goes out. I was thinking the oil was to thin (previously elf 5W30) filed up with a thicker oil 10W60 and the car was running fine. But when it...
No such problem in my Clio 172 ph1 CB0M with GroupN program and ron98.cal
Try disconecting battery for a few minutes when the car is cold, then start it and wait when it warms up till the radiator fan starts.
I know most of You think this metod to be to old to work but its no harm to try. I...
Had the same problem (I was running Elf SRX 5W30 oil) I checked the pressure it was still there but to low (0.5bar at idle, and 2,8 at 3000rpm, it should be 1,6bar at idle and 3.0 at 3000rpm)
switched to Castrol Edge 10W60 full synthetic and the problem is gone. Little bit of sun came out and...
Good news, oil pressure is still there
at idle 800-900rpm its abour 0,5-0,6bar
according to AutoData target test pressure is 3bar at 3000rpm (mine was 2,8bar)
The conclusion is: ELF SRX 5W30 might be a little to thin for wheater above 28 degrees celsius (as i think of it now it actually...
I always wanted Rotrex (one guy from Italy made 160bph form a 1.4 14V ph2 clio2) http://www.clio16vclub.it/forum/viewtopic.php?start=0&t=6258
but its still to expensive.
On the other hand Vortech offers similar solution for half that price (should be around 1000GBP for You guys)...
