johnnyb makes a valid point. When I had an Escort Cosworth, nobody in their XR3i claimed that their weight advantage made it a better car. When I owned a Honda NSX, Honda Civic Type R owners didnt leap around, quoting the high list price of the sports car and claiming that on a tight track...

The Williams which would be all over a mildly-tuned V6 like mine would have to have an engine twice as powerful as the powder-puff one it comes with standard, mate. [Edited by Vee Six on 18 June 2005 at 7:53am]

You are right. It is a mini-Supercar! The sound is 100 times better than the 4-pots. The performance is way better, too.

James, give over. The V6 handles fine if you know how to use a mid-engine car. The Williams is hardly cutting-edge technology any more, in any event. Old-fashioned actually, in a lot of ways.

No dyno. facts yet, but around 30bhp up on standard. Car looks totally standard MK2. So V6 285, not 258! (Williams drivers, dont bother giving chase, hee-hee :D )

Take a look at the Pipercross website and see. It is not a lot different from stock, but gives a whole lot more/colder air to the engine, which it needs, because the motor is quite strangled as standard on intake and exhaust. Once the full-exhaust is on and the motor set-up, it breathes WAY...

We had a few debates on a thread recently about best Clio and we saw differing views. I dont want to go there again, but we also talked about tuning and most of the mods. have now been done to my 2004 Clio V6 and the difference is impressive. Pipercross induction kit, utilising a sealed...

I will admit that I have not tracked the car, so dont know how it handles on a circuit. I do know that I have raced cars and motorcycles over many years and will probably be okay. It will take a pretty good Williams to overcome 295 bhp and 265 torque, the latter figure being very useful when...

Yeah, really slow. The previous MK2 this company modified (same mods. I am having) was getting to 60 in 5 seconds and touching 170mph. Like you say, slow. ;)

That poll says it all. Factor in the rose tints and the thrashing is even more severe! :D A guy I know swears that his 1986 Pug. 205GTI is the best hot hatch ever and we all know how that would fare against a Civic Type R or Focus RS or Clio V6, dont we! :D

But the V6 beats it in every measurable way. You cannot get away from that fact. Hot hatches are about power, in the main. The V6 has over 100 extra horses. That can never be clawed back by classic-ness. SEVENTY PERCENT more power.

Lunner; of course driver skill comes into it, but we are assuming that all things are equal, outside of the car itself ! Otherwise, you may as well say that Schumacher in a Mini is better than me in my Clio V6, which he would be on most tracks. It would not make the Mini better than my car...

Hi mate. I have also noticed that there is definitely an anti-V6 feeling in this forum, which is why I shall only pay the occasional visit. It can only be jealousy as there is no other logical explanation. The V6 will be a legend in years to come. Yes, the Williams is/will be also, the V6 will...

Im off, to many heres relief. I have some Staffordshire country lanes to blast. Lets hope I meet an old 1993 Williams, with its meagre power and brakes. Hee-hee. TATA! :D

Some people tell me that the DB5 is the best Aston Martin ever. Because AT THE TIME, this that and the other, it was AT THE TIME great handling and so on. I say to that...HORLICKS... My uncles Vanquish is way better, but you try convincing the old school of the fact. The DB5 wouldnt stay...

Why not? Is that so strange to you? Go on, tell me, it will be inferior to the 1993 car. (Whatever you say mate. Tell Renault that next year).

We were talking about BEST CLIO. If you want another discussion then fine. Have one. But this discussion was BEST CLIO. OKAY? The other example is perfectly valid, ie, BEST FIESTA. Is it SO hard to fathom matey?

Fine by me. July sees the car (as discussed on another thread) get 300 bhp / 230 ft lbs and very sticky tyres. I will be hassling Porsche 911s, so a Williams wont be much trouble.

James, on the basis that technology brings imrovements in just about everything in life, including cars, yes, the V6 must, logically, be the best Clio ever, because it is the latest and therefore greatest, because time has improved so many aspects of the car. It is like claiming that the Ford...
