Hi, i'm looking to get this kit for my clio 55 1.2 with 58mm spacing. The kit is described as "Apex Renault Clio all exc. D/1.6 16V/2.0 Sport/V6 Lowers by 60 mm 98-(SP150-4060)". I have called the guy at venom motorsport but we were not 100% if the kit is for 58mm centres. I presume so because...
Had same prob on saxo, after replacing both bottom track control arms, struts, springs+shocks, wheel bearings, droplinks, track rod ends, power steering fluid, 4 new tyres on reconditioned wheels and tweaking the strut brace I gave up! Only thing I did not try was looking for a bent anti roll...
Number plate lights run off the side light circuit. Why not pull the wiring through from the oigional lights and use that if its not too much of a pain? In answer to your question tap off one of the bulbs that comes on with the sidelights m8.
I did a reverse spin turn thing (is it a J turn?) in my old xr2 and the leading wheel caught on a drain and pulled most of the tca arm mount away from the shell. Bit of angle iron and a mig sorted it though!! As for tracking just ask yourself why would it change? Answer is of course it won't...
worn steering column bush is slop/play. Lightness and heavyness usually caused by miss aligned wheels (tracking) or unevenly worn tyres. Check pressures as well. An outside chance could be knackered ball joint or damaged suspension/shock.

You will get what you pay for. Koni and bilstein spring to mind. Depends what you want-street car or a track day machine. I once bought a cheap set for my mk3 escort xr3i and tbh they where not much better than std. A friend of mine had a koni set up on his escort and it was like a go kart ...
Without overlooking the obvious is your clutch dragging, ie very low biting point? I have done some reading up on ATF, lots of peeps use it due to it being thinner than standard and therefor you lose less power through the box. Theory sounds okay but why don't renault specify this oil? Up to you...
Anyone know if it makes a difference which way the apex springs are fitted, tighter at bottom I guess? I just ordered a set and hopefully will be getting the tools out next week.
Ok we are getting there now... Bigger wheels are harder to turn so using more fuel but most importantly your speedo and therefor the computer will be under reading-making you think that you getting less mpg/speed from the car. see here m8 http://www.torquecars.co.uk/Tuning/alloy-wheels.php
Have you got bigger wheels or tyres? When was car serviced last? Put correct grade of engine oil in, make sure tyres are correct pressure. Give the filter a good clean and re-oil. Have a look at your plugs-they should be brown. Black=rich white=lean (basically, more to it but not enough room to...
I notice going over 70mph makes a big difference due to the engine reving its head off at over 3500rpm at this speed. filter and pipe may drop a few mpg at most. Key is slow acceleration and a light foot-boring basically!, to get good mpg.
Make sure wheel nuts are tight buddy. Prob a nail in tyre or a stone (less likely). Is there an abs sensor outboard, or gearbox end of driveshaft-may be catching?? Tyre wall blebbed and hitting strut? good luck m8
Computer says 40mpg, 50/50 town motorway. Usually 380 miles until light comes on then another 40 miles (at a guess) = 420 miles out of around 9.5 gallons = 39.9mpg so pretty accurate. How you guys get 50 ish is...wow! Ive just got to 4000 miles, do u think will improve as engine loosens up?
True, I have had many sporty cars but have settled for a 1.2 16v because they are cheap and it gives me money for other stuff that I would probably not have runnibg a 172-nice as they are though!
good 4 u - kinda evens things out, like the credit card commercial, lol !
tbh i thought it was a speeding fine first glance so its not so bad, least no points.
Just been bollocked £37.50 for parking in kwick save Middlesbrough between half seven and half ten when I went for a meal. Was dark so did not see the 1hour max sign. Was saving for some apex springs too. What a bugger-don't get fined like me!
nb sorry if this is spam.
Stick a piece of wood between the jack and chassis rail (pic) to cushion and prevent marking. A piece of old floorboard 8" long or so would be ideal. ps NEVER work under a car supported by a jack only please. Thankyou ;)
Thats right Fred, just hope he realises and does not think i'm taking the michael. Suppose if it comes to it i can flog it on. Thanx for clarification buddy
I think the bloke might try to get out of this, he says he sent the correct one. I replied the advert states 01/00>, but it does not fit and i would like to return for a refund or the correct filter-hope this doesn't get messy :(
As far as I'm aware airbag's do not have a seperate battery from the main one under the bonnet. After xxxxxmiles however it is preferred that airbags are replaced with new ones just because of wear and tear-it's not like they can be tested after all. Personally I think its just the car...
Thanx matey. I have mailed the shop - awaiting response. tbh its only to give the engine a break from breathing through that crappy standard filter! Coming from a lowered, strut braced, engine modded vtr to this more sensible car, (im a daddy next june!), I am pleased with the power that renault...
Hi fellas
I just ordered recently a filter from here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4600981131
Went out to fit it after work but does not fit, it's only about 8" long. Strange thing is the 1.4 16v looks like it would go in my airbox, I would gustimate its around 13"...
