Re: Possible new splitter found!!
I had the same problem today, found it easily on one system but he had to dial in on anther to find price and availability, this system didn't like the number, found it in the end though.
Currently 149 (well soon to be 148 :P) in stock at Skoda parts...
Very true, most supercars these days are too low and wide to be driven enthusiastically along a country road (plus drivers are scared of binning their uber expensive toy). Most modern hot hatches would embarras a £100k+ supercar on a narrow, bumpy, twisty road.
I'd recommend getting the kit replaced. The aux belt tensioner was pushing my aux belt of the pulleys, it frayed which eventually took the cambelt with it. Keep a check that the aux belt is central on the pulley.
You don't need to be thrashing the car to cause lots of damge, I was at low ish revs when my belt went and you can see what it did to the valves!! Theres massive forces involved at any engine speed.
Like these?
Get it done, mine recently snapped and cost me £1070 to fix!! Seems expensiv to have it replaced but as you can see, a snapped belt causes lots of damage.
1 of the only 29 petrol blues here. Looks good when clean with the sun shining (sun shows the green flick in the paint), just looks blue in any other condition.
Re: Possible new splitter found!!
Good find, think a trip to the local Skoda dealer on my lunch break tomorrow is needed :). Been after a cheap, good looking alternative after my cup splitter got broken on the motorway.
I emailed you the other day regarding this and you never replied!! Me and the mrs are in the Northwich area on friday and Ryan can do it the same day so I booked it in.
Idle seems 'lumpier' than it did before and it hasn't got the same kick when hits 5000rpm. Feels like it's down on power, feels no quicker than my old 130bhp Punto Sporting at the moment.
Thats exactly what happened. I would take it back to the garage but if they haven't got the specific tools the car will be the same.
My dad sorted the repair for me (which i wasnt impressed with) and then collected the car back as i was on holiday, in order to get the job as cheap as possible...
Just had both belts (kits) replaced due to to a cambelt failure. Seems like the engine timing is now out and i'm pretty certain the garage that did the work wont have used the specific locking tools. How much would this cost to sort and what would it involve? Alt belt off, then cam cover off to...
Seen a few good spots, best prob has to be 2 Pagani Zonda F convertibles near Silverstone (also saw a Veyron on the same road, looked poor in comparison). Latest spot (and possibly rarest) was earlier today, Mercedes AMG SL Black, one of only 8 in the country. It has to be one of the most brutal...
To be honest, the car doesnt seem quite as quick once above 5000rpm as it did before, i thought it was just me but know you have said that im starting to think different. Could do with getting it looked at i think.
