WOW! Mine is £150 and premium is £662 and i've just gone 27. 2 years no claims and the car is standard, definately sounds like you need a new insurance company.
Mine is £150, got stung by a £500 excess (£250 comp £250 vol) so learnt from that mistake. Also (for example) £100 less excess does not equal £100 cheaper insurance premium so lower excess is always a winner for me.
I had a similar problem with my 182, aux belt started to shred (but didn't completely let go). The shreds then took out the cam belt. This happened when i was driving at about 40mph on a dual carriageway. It bent all 16 valves and wrecked all the valve guides on the exhaust side. Engine needed a...
Like i said, im not too fussed about the steering wheel controls its just the display im bothered about. Dont want to loose time and temperature display.
This scares me, i've just got my car back from a premature timing belt failure which bent all 16 valves and wrecked half the valve guides!! I hope it lasts longer than yours!!
I hope this hasn't been asked before (i did have a quick seach). If I change the standard head unit for an aftermarket model will the dash display still show time and outside temperature? (im guessing it will). Im not too bothered about getting the display and stalk adapters but dont want to...
Try elephant.co.uk. Sister company with Admiral, i got quoted just over £300 cheaper than Admiral from Elephant, rang Admiral and they matched the price straight away, just need the quote number off the internet.
Thats the info I was after, if the alu part is included in a tensioner kit or not. Its the alu part on my old one was that has snapped in half. Starting to wonder if renualt replaced it when the acc belt was replaced at 36k.
Just got my car back, cost £1070 all in inc both belts. All 16 valves were bent and it wrecked all the value guides on the exhaust side and a couple on the inlet side. What actually caused the fail was the acc belt, the bracket for the tensioner has snapped clean in half which over time had...
Not sure if this would be any cheaper for you but can get a cambelt kit from here http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Renault_Clio_2.0_2003/p/Car-Parts/Engine-Parts/Belts-Chains-and-Tensioners/Timing-Belt-Kits/?348772175&1&bc73821f295f6103f277a800be95e930c06fe4a8&TBLK for under £100. Depends how...
It was done previous to me owning the car but is clearly noted in the service history book that the belt had been changed and its with a Renault stamp.
Right,
My car is a 54 plate Clio182 thats currently on 52500miles. The alt/accesory belt was replaced at 36k as per the service guide by a Renualt dealer, this was done on 19/11/2007. The cambelt was replaced at 46,038miles on 3/04/2009 by a vat reg. independent dealer. Now, on the way to...
I had the three lights coming on at random times when driving, since adjusting the brake switch they havent come on once! I wouldn't have thought you had a shock problem, more likley something on the road to make it a little slippy. No harm in having a look at your shocks for leaks etc.
Adjust your pedal sensor first, then see if it still happens. Applying brakes normally throws up the lights, your stabilty etc may have kicked in on the bend which caused the fault, then once stabilty was off the back end stepped out.
I used a tool from my local Poundland for this, its actually a bike tool but gives a hex bit attachment that i used a socket with and the handle can be positioned at 90 degrees which fits in the gap easyily (so tool becomes L shaped), took 2 mins to get panel off with it.
I used to get this every time i drove the car, adjusted the brake pedal switch (really easy and takes 5 mins max) and, touch wood, the lights haven't been on since. There is a guide on how to do it in the guides section.
