low boost the standard engine or if you want to charge it use an eaton, sod paying silly money for a rotrex. either way you'll need to sort the box out, boosted on a standard ratio box must be bloody awful to say the least.
we should be sorting a low boost one out hopefully at the end of this...
buying one at £240 isn't going to leave much profit i wouldn't of thought? one of the cat buyers who comes to me was gobsmacked at the price i said as he was genuinely told £165 from the place he sell them to.
Was meant to of been a low mileage engine, came out for a boost conversion.
Crack wasn't there before it picked up on the bearing. Was the one thing I checked for before I even thought about using the crank.
If you weren't looking for the crack it's very easy to miss. Forst one I had wasn't...
4th crank i've pulled out inside a year that's cracked across the big end journal!! no blueing to the rod and minimal on the side of the shell.
sorry pic isn't the best.
That's brembo calipers for you. I've hand them pull the thread from the caliper more often than I'd like to remember, they may well of been genuine about it.
Has to be said the price is a bit scary though!!!!
It's quite common for a nipple to be fine on a calliper but once it's been cracked off it won't quite seal again. I've had it a couple of times funnily enough on 197s.
dropped a ratchet spanner first time i used it and it fell apart, torx bits not the best either.
they're ok at best. wera are pretty good and do some well thought through sets.
