Maps used to cost £40 or something and had no protection so you could just get someone to email you theirs for free and you only need to pay the unlock code. Fair enough a change was then made to lock maps to your unlock key on the newer hardware/software, so that if you want a map you need to...
Think the 182 was very good in context (cruise & climate control versus it’s contemporaries) but it will always be a small, cheap car.
Unfortunate that the basically-mandatory exhaust & cooksports make it significantly worse for using daily.
Thought this was a typo for that A4 wagon at first...
Handbags indeed!
Just thought the word "restoration" was typically associated with painstaking replacement/refurbishment of original parts etc down to individual nuts & bolts. Not bog standard servicing and the same aftermarket modifications as every other Clio.
Thread was just not quite what...
What are you trying to do?
Autocad based stuff deals with quick editing of legacy dwgs, dxfs etc very well so is good for managing drawings of existing products. Dassault’s eDrawings is in this respect nowhere near as good.
Undo the lower adjuster (locking ring). Then wind the upper ring up/down as much as you want. It will go down, just takes a while (1:1 ish installation ratio on the rear, and the rear corner weight on a clio is something like 140kg so you don’t get much pre-compression even on “softer” springs)...
Setting coilover height lower INCREASES rebound travel, reduces bump travel, reduces spring aid/bumpstop gap and increases the internal gas pressure which in turn increases the total spring rate of the whole unit.
So it does several things that reduce compliance/control in the bump direction...
Still enjoying driving around on Far Cry 2 making explosions, so will grab this one when it's cheap.
Can feel a GFX card upgrade coming though which is hardly good timing with prices the last year... :/
You’re supposed to start at full soft all round then up the rear until you have pitch control, then up front & rear together until body roll is adequately controlled. Then fine tune front/rear individually to get the desired corner entry/exit behaviour.
Partly due to manufacturing tolerances of...
Off topic & 4 months late but that car canopy is absolutely begging to have a 1.5 width garage door whacked on the front, a wall on the back and a door into your downstairs...
Surely an M5 / 182 would've been pretty close to the ultimate attainable 2 car garage. One has got long journeys, holidays, autobahns, looking-presentable etc absolutely nailed and the other has got cheap, capable, reliable, out-the-box fun covered.
Customer services must be struggling to hear you above the noise of the owner's V10 powered GT3 car 😂
Sorry! #anyexcusetopostaGT3
Annoying to feel like you're not getting help, or they're simply not responding, but glad you got everything you ordered in the end & the 182 can live...
Interesting advice purely because it's very different to that of Pirelli, Dunlop, Michelin & Avon which suggests that maybe construction/stiffness/curing is quite different from the "mainstream" brands.
Though I do note the article is a joint piece with a tyre shop who by pure coincidence can...
On a side note, if you’re thinking of doing smaller stuff that style of kit is absolutely crap. Especially from the likes of sealey, laser, amtech etc all the same rebranded soft metal that can barely grip copper lines let alone OEM steel lines and wears out very quickly leading to dodgy wonky...
Don't even need to turn it over just line the little hole/cut-out up with the valve.
Next you'll be saying you didn't know about the air conditioning in the glove box, the key hook on the petrol filler cap or the "secret" diagnostic codes on the dash
How standard is the standard-ish class in Tri Color? Tech regs wise?
Yes the ktec series is probably the fairest playing field on offer & bigger grids, but the startup costs & I assume entry fees are higher.
If you’re not fussed on Clios, there are plenty of very popular spec series for MX5...
@JB21 generally all the used Michelins flying round are the S9 (hardest) compound. Purely because most Michelin championships don’t allow a choice (Clio, Ginetta Supercup etc).
Whereas every Dunlop series I’ve come across e.g. BTCC, Britcar & the old 24hr series do allow a choice so you get a...
I’m with JB21, absolutely textbook sign of hot pressure far too high, or a damper failure.
25psi is sensible for hillclimb, single-lap sprints, qualifying etc but not 20 min sessions on a circuit without any long straights for cooling.
I’m more interested in how you ruined a set of new AD08r in one day.
Something definitely wrong with toe/camber, cold or hot pressures or driving style if you’re not exaggerating.
As far as trackday tyres go AD08Rs are definitely the best of the budget-bunch (595 RSR, NS2R), but premium road...
