I've just seen the date of the OP & realised I was replying to the wrong person 🫣 :ROFLMAO:
Another common cause of misfires is dodgy injectors, swapping them round to see if the misfire moves with it and measuring the resistance of them is the way to test them, should be 14 ohms iirc
That handbrake arm looks like it is exactly the same as what's on the Mk1 Clio and I've got Mk1 calipers fitted to my 172 Cup, just makes the handbrake lever feel a little bit tighter is all
I've acquired a couple of decat pipes from a job lot of bits but could do with some help to identify them.
1st off is this possible cup racer decat pipe - only say that because that's what's written on it in marker pen 😂
Then I've got this which I thought might be a 182 manifold link pipe...
The bodies & airbox are from a BMW S1000RR motorbike, the manifold is a normal Jenvey item for a Mk1 Megane & the adaptors to make the bodies fit are custom made.
The airbox is the only thing that has the mechanism for the trumpets in it & it isn't really expensive or difficult to find & you...
Got the bonnet properly fitted today and it clears everything that it needs to inside the engine bay so I'm happy with the results 😁
Can see where the subframe has been cut to accommodate the radiator so getting that welded back up is next on the list
A bit more progress with this, finally got around to sorting the subframe. Had it blasted back to bare metal & in the nearly 20 years of dicking about with Clio's this has to be the cleanest & most un-fucked subframe I've ever seen after it's been blasted
Got something that vaguely resembles something that's similar to how it's done on a standard Valver, a nice simple oil breather from the rocker cover to the airbox
Bit of bodgefuckery with rape tape to test if my existing fan will actually fit, thankfully it does and doesn't get hit by the...
Got the finished radiator back today to start fitting it properly
Minimal bodging needed for the bottom rad hose, just a joiner and a 90 degree hose
A look at how snug the fit is after getting happy with an angle grinder on the subframe. A job for later will be getting it welded up to...
Done a bit of cardboard aided design & some gentle massaging with an angle grinder to facilitate the radiator that's going in
Got my hands on the radiator today. It's not finished yet, I just needed it to test my C.A.D skills and mark it up for where the fittings will need to go.
It...
Had some stuff done to the bonnet & did a test fit today. It's almost spot on, just needs a bit more fettling as it's catching on 1 little part of the fuel rail
Not sure what to expect power wise now tbh 🤷♂️
I was hoping to see close to a genuine 250bhp with the bigger itb's and EGT sensors in the exhaust manifold but I've been told that the injectors in the airbox combined with the variable trumpets in it will help gain even more power so it's...
In the effort to resolve the above mentioned space issues, I got my hands on a pov spec bonnet to use for marking up to work out exactly where to cut so it clears the airbox before chopping up the carbon bonnet
I've sent the bonnet away to be fettled with and close up the hole whilst...
Bit of an update: Finally got the itb's back
When deciding what to do about what trumpets to use, I found out that the airbox from the bike the bodies came from was quite fancy. It has a motor in it that adjusts the length of the trumpets so I don't need to compromise on trumpet length to...
My personal preference is PS3 or Avon ZV7 and whichever is available in the size I want and the cheapest between them, sometimes the PS3's have been the cheaper option.
I've used both on my 172 Cup in 195 45 and there's zero performance difference between them from my experience
As it's a lower spec Mk1 it probably doesn't have the reserve tank that's part of the filler neck so will have about 10 litres less capacity than the ones with the reserve tank so I'd say your consumption is about right.
The most I usually got from my Valvers that had the extra tank was about...
There's 2 different shape wing mirrors on Mk1's depending on the age, the smaller type are phase 1 & from 90-93 and the other bigger shape is phase 2 from 94 onwards.
If you want electric ones you'll need to see if the doors have the wiring in place for them otherwise it's going to be quite...
It's just the wishbones that make it wider and they are a direct fit to your car.
You will also need the anti-roll bar, driveshafts and the correct shock absorbers or camber correction bolts
