It was modified with AST's, miltek exhaust an a few other bits. I believe he is turning it back to standard to sell! Oh an it's white I can pm you his advert if you like
The SM inlet doesn't just give a higher peak figure when combined with boost. It moves the powerband upwards slightly in the rev range and allows the engine to hold power longer (as long as the turbo is capable of holding boost), plus various other changes
I dont see the point in risking the drive. simply send the ecu to be base mapped, it wont run like an NA. Although if you are keeping the SM chris can't put a base map on to suit it
I don't see the fear factor with running a forged build as a daily, as long as it is built correctly with the specified tolerances it wont be an issue. I used my Mr2 Turbo that was fully forged as a daily and racked up 20+ thousand miles on it with zero issues, made the same power 4 years later...
I also have a PH1 and have had zero issues with the ABS other than a sensor but on a 16year old car its to be expected. My car is mainly a track car and i'am very harsh on the brakes, the ABS works quite well on track.
To answer the OP's question if you are selling the car its a pointless...
proper padding on the B pillar legs of the main hoop and using a full cage on the road isn' an issue from a safety point of view. The impractical aspect of it (providing you have cross doors bars), would soon get old i would imagine
one awesome car out and another one in for both you craig and gav! Although in relation to the trophy my crystal ball says it might have another new owner before long............
Good to know mark, stellar work for the community once again by yourself. That being the case if funds permit and it's a track only car, gripper is the way forward
Even on a pure track car I wouldn't be too sure about a gripper, I know of various people who have had no end of issues with gripper diffs. On the flip side know numerous who have had zero issues
Never heard of any issues with a quaife or MFactory
How cheap is cheap, as rust free shells are few an far between. I'll have a look at it at the weekend if you want, can drop your shifter off at the same time
defo save. If you buy another its just a lottery what state that will be in. repair so you know its good an solid, did you speak to renault about a shell?
I wouldn't bother with a turbo timer, just learn to drive the last 5mins of your journey off boost as much as possible. On track days when back in the pits etc leave the car running for minute or 2 before turning it off
