Absolutely it's a sub minute car. I'm braking way to early coming into duffus and hairpin, that will take 2 seconds off straight away. It's just learning the brakes as they are ferocious and I have the lock ups worry but all does f el good
Major over heating last night which was draining...
That's what I'm thinking..... things an animal, down to same lap times as trophy even with Fraser in the passenger seat and it has lots more to give..... needs to be much lighter though..... much lighter!
I'm also going to have to improve oil cooling and look at a larger intercooler
Car ran faultlessly last night, so all issues resolved hopefully..... typical though the weather was on and off rain!
Car felt amazing planted over the Trophy, which had a lot of time spent on the suspension set up, so that's a real positive. Very flat at every bend, which was outstanding...
Well two track nights on the trot this week, tomorrow and Wednesday night. Let's hop I have more luck than I did last outing!
New MAF & KNOCK sensors fitted, along with the extinguisher system and the matt black wheels with the R888Rs on so let's hope the weather stay as planned!
Usual wash...
RC8's were in the my Track Trophy. I found these to have the same stopping power as 6's (slighty more aggressive) they just didn't crumble and i got approx 8 track days out of them. on cold / wet days days i had to use the DS 1.11's which had the same stopping force but didn't have the...
DS 1.11 will give you a very progressive feel. Opposite end of the scale from your DS 2500. Lasted forever on the Trophy with Brembo max discs and no fade.
CL wear quite quick, I switched to CL8s which lasted very well, but agin better with standard high carbon discs. CL give massive initial...
Yeah I like them.... looked at prorace 1.2s because they were cheap, but just didn't look right Mark. Plus the deal I got in these was unbelievable so it was a no brainier.... I think the black works well. Like you I'm a gloss man, but unfortunately they only make them in matt... once i give...
More goodies arrived today, and even thought the car is sitting doing nothing they had to be fitted....
So now matt black ones are fitted the carbon dipped ones are gett g some rainsports fitted at the weekend.... I'll be interested too see how the r888r's perform over the r888's on the...
Hi mate, I don't think there was I'm afraid. Picture below of it in jamsport, but that doesn't show much more. I'm led to believe when it was done it was more of a bespoke build, but certainly more common now. I do believe there was a magazine feature of it a couple of years back, if I find...
It has Mark,
Missed the tack days, turned up and went out with a mate at one and thought that a 315bhp clio can't not be used in anger 🙈
I do have all he original bits, so if it needs to it can go back to full road...., the Trophy kinda went a little past that :grimacing:
I know mate..., something about a clio means you can't pass up a bargain....!
Your right though with the lotus and the x5.....
get round and sell it to mr Methven, he'll be needing a parts car and you've got the colour match and everything 🙈
The ASTs transformed the Trophy even with the standard springs. Car ran much flatter. Stiffer springs again improved things so I don't think you'll be disappointed
If you want gold callipers that's what you should use, if you want the front to stay silver get some high temp paint mate . Have a look at my trophy 381 thread, one outing from pretty silver to gold due to heat 🙈
Yeah I had that same problem with my 182!! A £1000 will vanish before you know it 🙈
Nice looking little project and even with all the Renaults temperamental problems your love it.... hope you enjoy it mate
